Leilani.
My expression turned stony as I glared straight at him; And I know that you may call me weird but even as I frowned, I could still feel the way my face heated up, burning all the way to my neck and to the tips of my ears.
I could also still feel my heart racing like a bitch.
And trust me, I hated it.
I hated how guilty I felt whenever Jay was mentioned. I hated how the voice inside my head kept making me feel like I was making such a huge mistake. I set my glass onto the table and crossed my arms over my chest again, my voice icy as I spat; "That's none of your business."
"True," he answered, raising his hands up in a gesture of surrender.
And that was surprising because it was unlike him to simply give up on a topic because I had asked him to. When his eyes met mine again, I could swear that I saw something weird and different swirling around those deep dark orbs. He hissed; "Ah ah sorry, so what do you want me to pretend to be interested in?"
