My breathing became labored and hell, I knew that I should move but for some reason, I felt rooted in place. I could barely move, barely breathe, even though every living organ in me was screaming at me to move my ass.

The fear of what I may see in there kept me rooted in place until my wolf began to thrash around in my head, his anger slipping through the bond between us as he screamed;

'Get your ass moving, you idiot!'

And maybe that was all the push I needed. Maybe it was the shove I never knew was necessary…

When Leilani's cry tore through the night's stiff air again, I found myself shouldering her door down and dashing through the absolutely messy house.

My limbs were doing all the thinking my brain couldn't do at the moment and I found myself running through her house until I slammed into a closed door and froze…
