Chapter 22 - Planning

After everyone finished eating, Ma Ke went into his small room to rest. This was usually Ma Sheng Dan's resting place, but he gave it up for Ma Ke.

Skagos Island had a cold climate. To solve the problem of not being able to sleep at night, Ma Ke also brought over the Kang from his previous life in Zhonghua Family.

This world also had fireplaces, but frankly, in Ma Ke's opinion, these things weren't even worth mentioning compared to the Kang of Zhonghua Family.

The heat utilization rate wasn't high at all, and there was a lot of waste. Besides using it to roast, it was useless!

The use of the Kang perfectly solved the problems of sleeping and indoor heating, especially in situations where everyone slept together in a shared space, which was even more convenient.

When he was at Griffin Fortress, Ma Ke personally taught the craftsmen of the three tribes how to make the Kang, and the appearance of the Kang instantly conquered the Rock Folk.

Although it didn't snow at Griffin Fortress, it was still very cold at night this season. Many people often woke up from the cold without Ma Ke's down quilts.

For a time, the people of the King's Hall and Driftwood Hall were all learning to build this special heating facility.

The Rock Folk also called it the "Earth Fire Furnace," while others referred to it as the "Saint's Blessing," because it was truly practical and could even use weeds or straw instead of firewood.

And so, this simple, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-maintain "Earth Fire Furnace" replaced the fireplace as the standard.

Many of the Rock Folk who had taken refuge in Griffin Fortress for the winter were already planning to return to their clans to spend the winter, especially the King's Hall clans who came back to provide supplies for the mine.

They brought this technology with them, and now, the warriors stationed throughout King's Hall were enthusiastically renovating their homes.

Skagos Island was itself a volcanic island, so Ma Ke used local materials, using volcanic ash and lime to create simple cement, making it even easier to build Kangs.

Ma Ke was currently working late into the night in his small cabin, taking out the notebook he carried with him, and writing down his needs and relevant information.

The Elemental Reactor was a treasure trove in the game specifically for producing resources. The guards inside were all neutral Four Elements.

According to the game's settings, there was a 30% chance of encountering 5, 10, or 15 guards, and a 10% chance of encountering 20 guards.

Ma Ke also wrote down the relevant data he had obtained when using elemental summoning magic. While at Griffin Fortress, Ma Ke had also tested the resistances and weaknesses of the Four Elements.

These Level 4 creatures were extremely powerful in combat. His elementals were even more formidable with the enhancement of hero skills, but Ma Ke had found a way in subsequent experiments.

In Ma Ke's opinion, the Water Elementals were the most lethal and had to be attacked first because of their high-level magic and astonishing destructive power.

So, Ma Ke planned to use "Extreme Response" to increase the speed of Griffin Siwang and Unicorn Yinshan, allowing them to rush forward and assault the Water Elementals.

Next were the Fire Elementals, Earth Elementals, and Wind Elementals. Since there was still a certain amount of Whale Oil, Ma Ke intended to use fire to restrain the melee Wind Elementals and Earth Elementals.

Every year, huge black whaling ships would come to the Skagos Island to hunt whales, and the crew would trade fresh water and timber with the Rock Folk.

Whale Oil was a very useful fuel, especially in snowy weather. After the firewood got wet, just pouring some Whale Oil on it would allow it to ignite quickly.

After writing down the subsequent combat plan, Ma Ke went to sleep. In the consciousness world, the Three-Eyed Raven quietly appeared in front of Ma Ke.

Ma Ke seemed to see a hint of excitement in his expression and asked him curiously:

"Why did you suddenly decide to come here to find me? Did something happen?"

The Three-Eyed Raven looked at Ma Ke and asked with a hint of excitement in his voice:

"I suddenly felt a powerful life energy here, so I came to take a look. Is there something hidden in the rock wall near your base?

Why can't I get inside? That area is really amazing! I feel that its energy fluctuations are similar to life energy, but they are not the same kind. How strange!"

After saying this, he couldn't help but look at Ma Ke again, as if wanting to find the reason from him.

Ma Ke, however, indicated that he didn't know either, claiming that he had only noticed the magical fluctuations and had come to check it out.

After briefly describing the situation, Ma Ke also told the Three-Eyed Raven that he was going to explore that area to search for possible magical treasures.

Ma Ke had never revealed the system to anyone. He knew it was his ultimate secret and trump card, and he wouldn't trust anyone but the system itself.

Unless the Three-Eyed Raven pledged allegiance and appeared on his list of soldiers, Ma Ke would never trust him.

In the TV series, that guy had the last laugh, successfully ascending to the Iron Throne (only to get burned), becoming the King of the Westeros Continent, the ultimate winner of the game of power.

Now, recalling the events after Jon Snow's resurrection, Ma Ke always felt a bit strange. He also realized that Daenerys Targaryen had made several bad decisions since arriving in Westeros.

Dragons died one after another, people died one after another. Although this was forced in by some brain-dead screenwriters, leaving aside the unreasonable aspects...

Thinking carefully, one would find that there seemed to be a hand behind it all. A dragon died in the North, a dragon died in the South. It looked like some kind of sacrifice!

Especially that final stab, which made Ma Ke feel that everything was not as simple as it seemed. Ma Ke had long since witnessed the Three-Eyed Raven's ability to manipulate dreams!

He could influence people's subconscious, manipulating their memories and thoughts. Seeing Jojen Reed's heroic act of delivering his head from a thousand miles away, Ma Ke had never dared to get too close to the Three-Eyed Raven.

After putting aside his scattered thoughts, Ma Ke turned the conversation to another topic, asking:

"Have the White Walkers made any big moves? Have you migrated south? How is Mance Rayder's work going?"

Seeing that Ma Ke didn't offer much explanation, the Three-Eyed Raven suppressed his curiosity and replied:

"Our troops are currently located in the northeastern corner of the Thenn tribe's territory. I myself am still with my 'old friend.' An heir has been found, and he is in Driftwood Hall."

Ma Ke chatted with him for a long time, until the Three-Eyed Raven's spirit couldn't hold up anymore, and the two ended their conversation.

The next morning, Ma Ke led his soldiers and gathered outside the vault. He gently placed his hand on the crystal stone.

After a flash of light, the interface popped up in front of Ma Ke again.

After clicking "Yes" on the interface, the figures of Ma Ke and his group gradually distorted, and finally disappeared in front of Ma Sheng Dan and the others, causing those around to exclaim in surprise.

After a brief moment of dizziness, Ma Ke and the others found themselves in an underground cave. Ma Ke immediately cast the magic "Extreme Response" on Griffin Siwang while urging everyone to check their gear.

Seeing that everyone had oil bags, his worries eased. Before he could think further, Ma Ke saw twenty elementals charging out from the depths of the cave.

Seeing that it was the lowest level of elementals, Ma Ke's heart completely relaxed. He issued the order to attack to his soldiers.

With a screech of an eagle and a neigh of a horse, Unicorn Yinshan and Griffin Siwang charged towards the elementals. Unicorn Yinshan's speed was even faster than Griffin Siwang's, and it immediately plunged into the elemental group.

It had two innate skills. One was Blindness Attack. When attacking, it would emit a strong light, causing other creatures to temporarily lose their ability to attack, but it wouldn't prevent them from moving like in the game.

Later, Ma Ke had specifically studied it. He found that this was because the sacred unicorn had a special secretion that reacted with the light magic energy in its body, causing a dazzling flash and a strong explosion.

The other skill was Light Follower. If there were heroes or soldiers on the battlefield casting beneficial light magic, the sacred unicorn would also benefit.

And the effect was advanced. Moreover, it would still respond to the "Resurrection" spell after death. It could be said that the sacred unicorn was the most suitable creature to cooperate with the human troops in battle.

Unicorn Yinshan moved incredibly fast, dodging an attack from a Wind Elemental in an instant. After a flash of bright light, it instantly froze one of the Wind Elementals in place.

Ma Ke seized the opportunity and used "Magic Arrow" to attack the Water Elementals, while the Thugs were split into three teams, attacking the Fire Elementals, Earth Elementals, and Wind Elementals respectively.

Boom!

Ten giant flames surged towards Ma Ke and the soldiers. Ma Ke, with a flick of his wrist, used his treasure, the Elemental Wristband, and randomly summoned a Wind Elemental.

With Ma Ke's skill enhancements, the Wind Elemental brutally scattered four columns of fire, then "whooshed" forward, engaging the two incoming Wind Elementals in battle.

A series of screams echoed, and Ma Ke knew, without looking, that his Thugs had been hit by the Fire Elementals. He desperately wanted to help them.

But he was powerless right now. He could only use "Magic Arrow" to eliminate the last Water Elemental, which was preparing to cast a spell.

Just then, Ma Ke heard Griffin Siwang's scream and immediately looked in that direction.

Ma Ke saw Griffin Siwang, who was preparing to attack the Fire Elementals, being targeted by six pillars of fire. One of its wings was burned, leaving only charred flesh.

Fortunately, the other two Fire Elementals were being held back by Unicorn Yinshan, otherwise, this concentrated attack might have killed Griffin Siwang outright.

Ma Ke hurriedly ordered it to retreat, but at this moment, the griffin's fearless nature had been ignited.
