Chapter 23 - Fierce Battle in the Treasure House

Griffins are the symbol of the Griffin Empire in the Ashan World. The domesticated Griffins are known as the noble "Flying Hounds" in the empire!

They are good at launching attacks during encounters, flying from afar into the enemy's ranks to strike. Even if the enemy is a dragon, they will fight to the last drop of blood.

Siwang, the Griffin, endured the pain in his wings and recklessly pounced on a Fire Elemental. The Fire Elemental's "Flame Shield" characteristic activated instantly, and its terrifying flaming body immediately scorched Siwang's fur and flesh.

But Siwang, relying on sheer determination, still managed to bite off the Fire Elemental's head. After exhausting all his strength, Siwang collapsed to the ground.

Seeing him fall, the two Fire Elementals nearby immediately aimed their gaping fire-spewing mouths at him, preparing to launch their final attack.

Yinshan, the Unicorn, who saw the situation, hurriedly knocked away the two Fire Elementals she was fighting, rushed to Siwang's side, and shielded him from all harm.

Yinshan's beautiful silver-white fur instantly turned black. The intense scorching flames made her howl.

However, she still protected Siwang well, preventing him from suffering any harm.

In Griffin Fortress, there weren't any other magical creatures. They usually spent their time together, so they had a very close relationship.

Mako saw this and immediately cast "Vitality Regeneration" on Siwang. Powerful light magic energy instantly surged into its body, slowly healing its injuries.

Seeing that Siwang was alright, the Unicorn Yinshan neighed at Mako and turned to attack the two Fire Elementals that were preparing to attack.

The Fire Elementals had a very powerful attack. Their two flame-emitting mouths, like cannons, looked ready to unleash terrifying flames at any moment!

Fortunately, the Brute Troops had already charged over and, enduring the burns on their bodies, began to surround and attack the Fire Elementals.

Fire Elementals were the most troublesome of the four elemental creatures. They had ranged fire attacks with great damage and a wide area of effect.

Even if you managed to withstand all the damage and get close to them, you'd find that they were covered in flames. The "Flame Shield" characteristic instantly made you want to abandon the attack.

Just as Mako was about to fire his last "Magic Arrow," he suddenly heard a warning from Lauren Hawk-Eye behind him.

Mako hastily drew his Knight's Broadsword, preparing to parry. With a "whoosh," a violent gust of wind, accompanied by an extremely powerful impact, sent Mako flying backwards a considerable distance.

Mako quickly curled up in mid-air to prevent further injury upon landing, and after rolling for a while, he barely managed to regain control of his body.

Covered in dirt and grime, Mako drew his sword and stood up, ready to see who was attacking him.

Turning his head, he saw a Wind Elemental over three meters tall charging towards him. Mako raised his sword to meet it, and the Knight's Broadsword instantly sliced through the Wind Elemental's left side.

Mako felt as if his sword had struck a patch of mud, as if something was obstructing it, and the Wind Elemental seemed to have become somewhat fainter after being attacked.

Mako then realized that, aside from the Earth Elementals, which had the strongest physical bodies, the other three types of Elementals seemed to be products of elemental energy condensation, and their energy would be gradually depleted with increased attacks.

Just as Mako was preparing to continue his attack, to deplete the Wind Elemental's energy, the Wind Elemental's second attack came rushing towards him.

"Whoosh!"

Boom!

Just as Mako swung his sword to attack, the powerful force of the Wind Elemental's attack sent him flying again. Mako felt as if he had been blown by a level 10+ wind for a moment.

"The characteristic of not being able to counterattack? Is this what it means! Indeed! Facing this thing that initiates attacks, I can only get beat up!"

After Mako got up from the ground for the second time, he saw the Wind Elemental constantly gathering energy within its body. Without thinking, he charged forward, ready to attack again.

This time, he could see it clearly. These elemental creatures, not being human, needed a long time to gather power when launching an attack.

He had to seize this opportunity to attack quickly, otherwise, he would be exhausted to death. The Wind Elemental's powerful explosive force was simply impossible to resist.

Two powerful Wind Attribute attacks had wounded many places on Mako's body. Blood flowed everywhere from the small wounds, and after rolling on the ground, dirt mixed in, making him feel both painful and itchy.

Moreover, he didn't even have time to cast "Magic Arrow." The Wind Elemental would follow up with another attack after each of its attacks, and once it successfully gathered power, it would immediately launch an attack, sending Mako flying.

Such attacks left Mako in a sorry state. The soldiers in the distance couldn't come to his aid in time. The archer captain, Lauren Hawk-Eye, repeatedly drew back his arrow, wanting to help Mako.

However, the Wind Elementals stayed glued to Mako, giving him no opportunity.

Seeing the already somewhat chaotic troops, Mako urgently ordered everyone to continue the siege, declaring that he would personally deal with this Wind Elemental.

Just as Mako was blown away for the third time, he used a clever trick. He planted his Knight's Broadsword in the ground as a fulcrum, and with all his strength, he firmly withstood the blow.

"Whoosh!"

Mako's ears throbbed as if they were about to fall off, but he didn't have time to check his condition. Instead, he gathered all his strength, seized the opportunity, and cleaved the Wind Elemental in two with his sword.

This time, the Wind Elemental was easily sliced open, like tofu. Mako estimated that its energy had been almost entirely depleted by his attacks.

At this moment on the battlefield, the Wind Elementals had been completely destroyed. The Wind Elemental and the Unicorn Yinshan that Mako had summoned were currently battling the last three Fire Elementals.

And those five Earth Elementals, with their strong defenses, hadn't taken much damage. They were currently attacking the Brute Troops.

However, the burning flames and the archers' attacks suppressed the Earth Elementals' attack speed.

Their sturdy bodies couldn't withstand the Brute soldiers' constant attacks. They'd just prepare to counterattack after being hit from the front, only to be attacked from the side!

In this way, the five Earth Elementals were slowly worn down, their energy and rocky bodies depleted as the Brute Troops used a kite-flying strategy.

Mako also seized the opportunity and fired the last "Magic Arrow". The Fire Elemental howled and dissipated into a sky full of fiery sparks.

The power of magic was clear. Mako thought that as long as he was protected, he could act as a mobile artillery unit, firing where he was directed.

If his mana wasn't limited, the battle today would have been even less costly. Once he leveled up Destruction Magic and Summoning Magic, these guys would be one-shot kills.

Thinking about it, if the five Water Elementals had cast their spells together just now, Mako couldn't imagine the losses he would have suffered!

He was also extremely fortunate to have encountered these low-level guards; otherwise, they might have been completely wiped out today.

"Whew!"

Following the roar of the Wind Elementals, a Fire Elemental and Mako's Wind Elemental perished together. Then, with a neigh from the Unicorn Yinshan, and after a dazzling attack, the last Fire Elemental also scattered into a sky full of sparks.

At this moment, Mako also walked in front of the Griffin Siwang. This fearless fellow had just recovered from its wounds when it joined the Unicorn in attacking a Fire Elemental that had just attacked them.

Due to the Unicorn Yinshan's special attributes, the effect of the "Vitality Regeneration" magic had reached "Advanced," and its injuries recovered quickly, so it was completely unaffected.

The Griffin Siwang, on the other hand, was in a more tragic state, once again burned by the Fire Elemental's "Flame Shield." This time, its other wing also suffered varying degrees of damage.

The Griffin Siwang, seeing Mako approach, was terrified! Seeing Mako beckon, it could only droop its head and hobble over to Mako's side.

Mako didn't go easy on it, smacking it on the head. Siwang let out a mournful cry, but Mako still wasn't satisfied.

Then he cursed at it, "Next time you disobey my orders, you can just wait to die! Stay here obediently, and we'll treat you when we get back!"

Siwang the Griffin looked at Mako pitifully, whimpering in response, as if admitting his mistake.

When Mako arrived, he used his remaining mana to cast "Vitality Regeneration" on two severely wounded soldiers. Now he only had 1 mana point left.

Yinshan the Unicorn, having just eliminated the Fire Elementals, immediately rushed to support the troops besieging the Earth Elementals. With Yinshan's addition, the Earth Elementals gradually couldn't hold on.

About 3 minutes later, these giant rock monsters, over 3 meters tall, roared and fell to the ground, shattering into countless rock fragments.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have completed your first treasure house exploration. Based on the actual situation, you are now rewarded with a full set of resources: Wood 6, Ore 6, Crystal 6, Mercury 6, Gem 6, Sulfur 6."

"Ding! Since the exploration has ended, the treasure house will disappear and be destroyed in 10 minutes! Please leave promptly, to avoid unnecessary losses!"

After reading this information, Mako immediately ordered everyone to clean the battlefield, gathering the corpses and the wounded!

Five minutes later, Masheng Dan, who had been waiting outside impatiently, finally saw Mako again. It was already noon!

Mako and the others had only been fighting inside for just over an hour, yet so much time had passed outside.

Without time to think further, Mako immediately ordered everyone to begin helping the injured. He had already made arrangements for this in the morning.

Mako had lost a total of 30 Brute Troops this time, and over 100 others had suffered burns of varying degrees. However, once they returned to Griffin Fortress, Mako could use "Vitality Regeneration" to help them recover.
