After entering the Magic Tower, Marco endured nearly two more minutes of "knowledge transfer." He had thought that reaching level 4 would make him resistant to the magical influx.
However, these four magic scrolls didn't care about any of that. They were like terrifying parasites, burrowing around in Marco's mind.
They wouldn't stop their agitation until finding a suitable environment to settle. This made Marco feel like he was merely a vessel for these spells.
But this time, acquiring the magic made Marco feel that everything he had gone through was worth it.
The Level 2 Magic Guild's function provided three level 2 spells: one each of Light Magic and Dark Magic, and one for either summoning or destruction. After the spells mutated, they became a god-tier skill in Marco's eyes.
Summoning Magic (Raise Dead, costs 9 mana, resurrects corpses to fight for you; they fear fire and dragon crystals and are known as "Ghoul" by the people of this world.)
Original: Can resurrect 10 corpses.
Beginner: Can resurrect 20 corpses.
Intermediate: Can resurrect 50 corpses.
Advanced: Can resurrect 100 corpses.
Dark Magic (Rotting Curse, consumes 6 mana, curses the target, causing them to fall into a diseased state. They will take damage during the duration of the spell, and the spell's duration is equal to the hero's mana/minute).
Primitive: Can cause the target to feel sore and weak.
Beginner: Can incapacitate the target.
Intermediate: Can cause the target's skin to crack and be injured.
Advanced: Can cause the target's entire body to fester and become infected.
Light Magic (Magic Purification, consumes 10 mana, dispels positive magic on enemy units and negative magic on friendly units. The caster's level is checked during the dispel, so low-level casters will find it difficult to dispel magic cast by high-level casters).
Original: 40% dispel chance.
Basic: 60% dispel chance.
Advanced: 80% dispel chance.
Expert: 100% dispel chance.
Adventure Magic (Sarah's Ark, consumes 40 mana, summons a magical ship, the specific style and appearance are subject to the actual.)
Marco looked at the four new spells in his spellbook, and he was already overjoyed. He finally had his own cannon fodder soldiers.
If he encountered any dangerous situations in the future, Marco could send his ghoul cannon fodder to take the hits.
Next, Marco couldn't wait to leave the castle and prepared to try out his adventure magic, "Sarah's Ark," at the seaside.
Griffon Fortress is located on the southwestern corner of Skagos Island. Because the shipyard building wasn't yet constructed, its corresponding docks hadn't appeared either.
However, Marco was already planning to build a new dock. The Westeros Continent boasts a wide variety of ships, including small fishing boats, raiding vessels, and warships and merchant ships of various sizes.
And on the more distant Essos Continent, there were those enormous, mega-sized, fast sailing ships and the huge swan boats that sailed across the ocean.
Moreover, on the Westeros Continent, there were three extremely powerful naval fleets.
The Iron Islands, the Greyjoy Family's "Iron Fleet" was famous throughout the world, with its base in the Iron Islands and nearly a hundred longships.
A longship was a small rowing boat designed for raiding. They were faster than ordinary commercial flat-bottomed boats and could carry a force of about 100 people at most, somewhat similar to the Viking warships on Earth.
The Royal Fleet of King's Landing, the eastern capital, was later largely destroyed by Tyrion Lannister using wildfire during the Battle of Blackwater Bay, with its base in King's Landing harbor.
They all used large rowing warships, somewhat similar in style to the Byzantine warships of the Middle Ages on Earth. In its heyday, the Royal Fleet had about 30 main warships, equipped with crossbows and siege weapons like catapults.
Down in the Arbor, in the south, there was the Arbor fleet, under the Tyrell family, commanded by the Redwyne family. Their base was in Arbor Port, and their main fleet consisted of about 20 ships.
Of course, that wasn't all. Throughout the rest of the Seven Kingdoms, many coastal lords maintained two or three oar-powered warships to bolster their defenses against pirate attacks.
Some great houses, like the Lannisters, also possessed larger warships in greater numbers, though they were more dispersed, often totaling around 30 ships. After all, they were the closest to the Iron Islands.
In major conflicts, the great lords would often call upon their vassals for support, allowing them to amass even greater naval power.
The North used to have its own fleet, but it was all burned down by "Brandon the Burner." The North hadn't had any significant naval power for over a hundred years. (Dad disappeared, feeling bad, so he burned the ships?)
This was also the main reason Marco wasn't in a hurry to build a navy. However, he knew that in White Harbor, the Manderly family had already established a fleet, which would be a major problem in the future.
Marco called for Griffon Swan, mounted it, and flew to the bay. Since he didn't know what kind of ship he would summon, Marco tried to find a deep-water area.
Marco opened his spellbook and selected the spell "Sarah's Ark." After completing it, Marco felt the active magical energy in his body instantly drain away.
Following that, a massive whirlpool appeared on the sea surface in front of Marco. The bow emerged first, followed by the hull and the mast with its sails, then a loud sound of water breaking.
A huge triangular-sailed ship appeared before Marco, looking exactly like the ones in the game, with two large triangular sails.
Marco estimated the ship to be about 30 meters long, with a towering mast over 10 meters high. The deck was packed with people.
Their faces were filled with shock and fear, but upon seeing Marco and Griffon Swan, they began whispering amongst themselves.
Marco rode Griffon over and landed on the deck. The sailors around him watched with caution, but they didn't show any hostility, just a curious gaze at Marco and Griffon Swan.
Just then, a tall, middle-aged man stepped out from the crowd. He bowed to Marco, then spoke to him with excitement and agitation:
"My lord, may I ask! Where are we? My crew and I lost our way in the storm and suddenly entered a strange space.
A voice told us that if we were willing to submit to Griffon Fortress, the lord of Griffon Fortress would lead us out of that strange space. Are you the master of Griffon Fortress?"
Marco replied, "Yes! I am Marco Beleris, the lord of Griffon Fortress! So, are you willing to pledge your loyalty to me?"
"Screech!"
Griffon Swan obligingly let out a screech, and with a powerful flap of its wings, the resulting gust of wind forced everyone to take a step back!
After this display, the surrounding crew members began to kneel one by one, pledging their loyalty to Marco.
In subsequent conversations, Marco learned that these sailors had all lost a portion of their memories in that space, and now they couldn't even remember where they came from.
Then, under Marco's leadership, they anchored the ship and returned to Griffon Fortress in small boats. At this moment, an interface also popped up in front of Marco.
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully summoning a triangular sail ship from the turbulence of spacetime. Influenced by the world's consciousness, the crew members have lost their memories of their original world and are now completely loyal to the host."
Ship Type: Triangular Sail Ship
Captain: Charles
First Mate: Michael
Sailors: 50
After returning to Griffon Fortress, Marco introduced Charles and the others to the people in the castle. That evening, Marco held a small welcome banquet for his new crew in the banquet hall on the first floor of the castle.
This triangular sail ship, named the "Moon," didn't have strong ocean-going capabilities, but it excelled in its large space and top-notch carrying capacity. It could be used as Marco's troop transport ship in the future.
Moreover, it was also a rowing warship, already equipped with catapults and crossbows. Basically, as long as it didn't encounter a large fleet, it could barely fight against two to three warships in cooperation with the griffons.
And most importantly, it was a magic ship. With the investment of resources, the ship would be repaired bit by bit.
Even if it was destroyed, it could still be summoned again by Marco. It could be said that it was completely bound to Marco.
And with the upgrade of the Level 2 Magic Guild, Marco could also turn it into a flat-bottomed boat and a large sailboat. But looking at the resource numbers on those lists, Marco silently returned to his corner, radiating resentment.
Due to the increase in the construction level of Griffon Fortress, the nearby sea and land were also slowly being influenced by Griffon Fortress, and the climate had become warmer.
In some areas of the outer moat, many rock seeds had begun to try sowing wheat under the guidance of the thugs.
Marco hoped to build his own dock as soon as possible. Currently, the location where the Moon was docked was about 200 meters from Griffon Fortress.
Marco had checked the system. If a shipyard was built, the system would also build a matching dock, and as the building level increased, the dock would change from a shallow-water port to a deep-water port.
Early the next morning, Marco hurriedly ran to the third floor of the tavern. He had a ship, and he had resources; now he could finally try to summon a high-level unit.
In the office of the refugee recruitment center, Marco took a scroll from Nan Men. Ever since he had been taught a lesson by Marco last time, this guy dared not show off in front of him anymore. Marco briefly looked at the scroll and signed his name on it.
Boom! After a violent magical reaction, a figure appeared before Marco, passing through a two-way teleportation gate.
