The second-floor loft of the Good Hunter Restaurant.

After the restaurant's former owner transferred most of the shares to Jiang Yan, the place was naturally renovated into his residence in Mondstadt.

Jiang Yan—nineteen years old.

A handsome guy.

At least, that was how he saw himself.

"Well, if I was this popular with girls back in my freshman year, I can't be that far off," he muttered to himself.

Stretching lazily, Jiang Yan stepped out of the loft.

In line with the principle of an open kitchen—and to better attract customers—the Good Hunter's cooking area was set outdoors. Mondstadt's citizens also preferred eating at open-air stalls, enjoying the breeze as they dined.

As a result, there were usually fewer guests eating inside the restaurant.

Still, at lunchtime, it shouldn't have been this empty.

Not a single customer in sight.

"Stormterror's getting more and more restless…"

Jiang Yan murmured, a trace of anticipation slipping into his voice.

"It should be soon, right? The Traveler from another world."

The moment his words fell, a voice came from a four-person table behind him.

"What do you mean 'soon'? Isn't Brother Jiang Yan already a Traveler from another world?"

"…?"

Jiang Yan turned around.

A girl with flaxen twin-tails sat on a long wooden bench, her knees bent. She wore a pristine white deaconess dress and matching headpiece. Her black leather shoes were neatly placed beside her, while her legs—wrapped in warm white stockings—rested on the bench.

She was massaging her calves with both hands.

Her delicate, adorable face occasionally twisted into a small grimace whenever she pressed on a sore spot.

"Barbara?"

Jiang Yan froze for a moment—then instantly felt his mood soar.

Don't ask why.

She was just that cute.

"When did you get here, Barbara?"

"Just now~"

Barbara continued rubbing her legs as she spoke.

"Sleeping in until noon, Brother Jiang Yan. That's way too lazy."

"Aren't you being a bit harsh on an ordinary citizen?"

"As someone recognized by both the people of Mondstadt and the Knights of Favonius, you should work even harder and set an example."

"Yes, yes, I hear you."

Jiang Yan spread his hands helplessly.

"I'll probably be busy very soon anyway."

"You mean because of Stormterror?"

Barbara's lake-clear blue eyes fixed on him, full of expectation.

"Have you already found a way to resolve Stormterror's situation?"

"That's not something I get to decide."

Jiang Yan shook his head, avoiding a direct answer.

Stormterror's increasing agitation meant the Abyss Order was growing more active. That meant the "Prince" or "Princess" should have arrived by now—and among the twins, the one who remained was the true key to resolving everything.

He had been waiting here for a full year.

Transmigration wasn't something he could control. Arriving early wasn't his fault.

Jiang Yan felt miserable too, you know.

If it weren't for familiar faces like Barbara, Jean, Kaeya, and Diluc, he had no idea how he would've endured it all.

"By the way," Jiang Yan asked, "aren't you worried Sister Rosaria will scold you for sneaking out at noon?"

"Ah! Please don't tell Sister Rosaria!"

Barbara waved her hands in panic.

"So you came out even knowing you might get scolded?"

"Well… today's lunch at the church was a bit… light…"

Barbara poked her fingers together, her gaze drifting uncontrollably toward the second floor's separate stove—clean, unused, and devoid of cooking smoke. She swallowed quietly.

Jiang Yan chuckled and gave her a gentle pat on the head.

"What do you want to eat?"

That stove had been custom-made after he moved in, commissioned from Wagner himself. There was no way he'd cook personal meals downstairs in front of crowds of passersby.

"You won't grow taller if you do that…"

Barbara muttered—but Jiang Yan's question clearly mattered more.

"Mapo Tofu!"

She answered instantly.

"The money?" Jiang Yan asked.

Barbara pressed her lips together, then reluctantly pulled out ten Mora from her pocket.

"Hahaha!"

Jiang Yan laughed outright.

"So stingy."

Even the cheapest dish at the Good Hunter—a simple Teyvat Fried Egg—cost two hundred Mora. And Mapo Tofu wasn't even on the menu.

"That's all I have!"

"I—I'll treat you to a meal at the church next time!"

Barbara shouted, her face turning bright red.

Any more than that, and she wouldn't have the heart to eat Mapo Tofu anymore.

"Alright, alright."

Jiang Yan took the Mora.

From what he knew, Barbara—despite her noble background—was actually quite well-off. He was really curious what her savings box looked like.

He went over to light the stove. As the pan heated up, he opened a window and called out,

"Sara, send some tofu up."

"Yes, boss!"

Sara replied from the stall below.

She hurried upstairs carrying a crate of tofu, unable to resist complaining.

"Boss, there've been way fewer travelers and merchants lately. Business has dropped a lot."

The Good Hunter relied heavily on visitors. Locals only came by occasionally.

"With Stormterror active near Mondstadt, merchants and travelers don't dare come," Jiang Yan said calmly.

As he spoke, he casually chopped up Jueyun Chili Peppers. A sharp, spicy aroma spread instantly.

Barbara sniffed the air, her eyes lighting up. Unable to resist, she trotted over to watch him cook.

With her hands clasped behind her back, white-stockinged feet rising slightly onto her toes, her skirt fluttered gently as she hummed a pleasant tune.
