Yuto looked up at the hulking, three-meter-tall, fully transformed Utakata and muttered softly:
"What a hassle."
He tapped his foot lightly, a shockwave rippling under him, and in the blink of an eye vanished from sight.
Roar!
The beastlike Utakata scanned the area with crimson eyes. When he spotted Yuto rushing in, he thrust out a chakra-coated hand, corrosive energy seething across his claws, while the three tails lashed out like whips. The air cracked with sonic booms at every swing.
But Yuto remained calm. His charging form halted abruptly; the claw strike missed completely. The three tails slammed into him, yet their destructive force simply vanished on contact—his clothes didn't even wrinkle.
Expressionless, Yuto walked straight through the assault until he stood before Utakata.
"See? That's the difference in strength."
Utakata's eyes widened in disbelief. Yuto lifted his foot and casually kicked him away.
The jinchuriki hurtled through trees before finally collapsing, coughing blood. Even with the beast's healing chakra, the pain felt like his organs had been displaced.
Want power?
Release me…
I can defeat him. I'll give you my strength.
The whisper crawled into Utakata's ear. Chakra surged violently around him. He knew this voice. He knew three tails was his limit—any further, and he'd lose himself. But against such overwhelming power, he clenched his teeth. If things continued, defeat was certain.
"Fine. Don't blame me then."
He gave in.
Roar!
Raging chakra swallowed him whole. His small frame swelled, flesh ballooning. In moments, a towering white-slimed slug stood a hundred meters tall, six pale tails thrashing behind it.
The Six-Tails, Saiken.
"Disgusting," Yuto muttered, wrinkling his nose at the dripping mucus.
"At last, I'm free! As thanks, die for me!"
Saiken bellowed, chakra condensing at its maw. A dense black sphere formed, pulsing with lethal energy.
The beast swallowed it, then unleashed a massive beam of black-violet power.
Yuto's lips curved in a grin as he stepped into it. Cells across his body seemed to awaken, warmth flooding him.
"No wonder it's called a Tailed Beast Ball. So full of energy."
He absorbed it.
Saiken froze, trembling. That was impossible! The bijūdama had been consumed—devoured whole.
A memory surfaced. Years ago, the Three-Tails Isobu had warned him of a man. More terrifying than Madara or Hashirama. Isobu had spoken in terror, refusing to elaborate. Only one warning: if you meet a man who can eat chakra—who can swallow a bijūdama whole—run.
Back then, Yuto had consumed Isobu directly, leaving a scar of fear on the beast's soul.
Saiken's massive eyes flickered as realization struck.
"You're… the First Mizukage, Yuto?"
Yuto blinked. "You know me?"
Of the nine beasts, only Kurama and Isobu had seen him before. The rest had never crossed paths.
At the first Five Kage Summit, Hashirama had proposed dividing the beasts to maintain balance. Konoha would hold the strongest, Kurama, while the others shared two each: Water would take Isobu and Saiken, Wind the One-Tail and Seven-Tails, Lightning the Eight-Tails and Two-Tails, Earth the Four-Tails and Five-Tails.
To the Kage, the beasts were little more than trophies, already theirs for the taking.
Hashirama had said, "What's the worst? These things can't kill us."
Yuto had opposed him at every turn. The summit collapsed in chaos, and he'd already ordered his men, Byakuren and Ketsuya, to capture Isobu as a safeguard. That had sparked a war.
Now, Saiken's massive eyes quivered. With a violent tremor, it turned to flee.
"The hell? You can't just run!"
Yuto cursed, sprinting after it. Since when were tailed beasts this spineless?
Saiken's massive body made for an easy target. In moments, Yuto landed atop its head.
"As one of Kirigakure's key weapons, you're not walking away that easily."
He looked down at the thrashing beast beneath his feet, his voice calm but firm.
