Chapter 30 - Ch.30

Luo Guang accepted the book without any hesitation. He knew what Sona was thinking: she was doing him a favor, and he would remember it and repay it in the future.

The Ghouls' Investigation

At the Aogiri Tree base, the ghouls who were sent out had all been eliminated. Not even the Light Spears given to them by a Fallen Angel had helped. This was a major event that they couldn't just ignore. For some time, they had been secretly investigating. To avoid raising any alarms, they had been pretending to be harmless people hanging around the Anteiku Cafe, the coffee shop where the incident had taken place.

After some threats and coercion, they had indeed found some clues from surveillance footage. Since the location and time were very clear, they quickly found a video. Although it was a bit blurry, they had at least a lead. Combining this with the current information, Tatara and the other high-ranking members of Aogiri Tree pointed their fingers at the devils or those with related interests. As for exorcists, a proper one would never show up in this city, and the rogue exorcists were currently their allies.

"Lord Tatara, those devils must be trying to follow the trail back to us."

"It's fine. That plan is about to be put into action anyway," Tatara replied indifferently.

Just then, the door to the secret room was pushed open from the outside. A few beautiful high school girls in Kuoh Academy uniforms walked in, strutting like cats. The girl leading the group had long black hair. The two girls on either side were one tall and one short. One had a black twin-tailed hairstyle, and the other had a side ponytail, with a more mature look. Judging by their positions, the girl in the middle with the long black hair was clearly the leader. They were all talking and laughing as they entered, not even bothered by the bloodthirsty ghouls in the room.

"Reynare, it's so interesting to see you twisting that man around your finger," one girl said. "Should I do the same?"

"Don't even think about it. We've been lying low here for so long and only found one Sacred Gear wielder who hasn't been found by those devils. It's not easy to find them," Raynare said. She then turned to look at the ghouls in the room.

Even though they were allies, Raynare couldn't hide her contempt and disgust for these red-eyed humanoid monsters. What was the difference between them and beasts who preyed on others? If not for the fact that the Great Fallen Angel was short on manpower, she would never have sought out a group of monsters to be her subordinates.

"Lady Raynare," the ghouls greeted them, bowing their heads.

"There's something I need you to do. The night in three days, be as active as possible. That's all," Raynare said, preparing to leave.

But Tatara stopped her. "Lady Raynare, that might attract those devils."

"Your job is to get their attention."

"But..."

"There are no 'buts.' Are you trying to defy us? If you delay the plan and Lord Kokabiel holds you accountable, do you think you'll still be able to stand and talk to me?" Raynare said before leaving with the other two Fallen Angels.

After they left, the ghouls couldn't help but feel fear in their hearts. After all, Lord Kokabiel was a Fallen Angel recorded in the Bible. It was said that he had even fought with the greatest God of the Bible in the ancient wars. How could they defy such a great being? Although Tatara was very dissatisfied with Raynare and the other low-ranking Fallen Angels, their confidence influenced them. To the powerful Fallen Angels, the culprits who had eliminated their companions were nothing more than a momentary obstacle.

As for attracting the devils in three days, it was a familiar task for the ghouls. All they needed to do was send a few of their people to densely populated areas at night to cause chaos by killing people.

Luo Guang's Progress

After returning, Luo Guang started to read the magic book. After pouring his magical power into it, the words of the devil language appeared on the pages. To ensure he could understand, every word had a Chinese annotation. It was clearly Sona Sitri's handwritten copy. He quickly flipped through the book. The contents were just as Sona had described, containing not only general magic like telepathy, teleportation, sealing, flight, magical power blasts, and magical power shields, but also a section on water magic.

After reading it once, he began to learn from the basics. Because he already had a foundation and a natural talent, his progress was incredibly fast. In just two hours, he had mastered all the general magic. His water magic had also progressed from a beginner to an intermediate level.

Luo Guang casually raised his hand, and an invisible magical power spread, quickly affecting the water in a cup. Under his will, it transformed into various animal shapes. Finally, it turned into an arrow and shot out with a whoosh, embedding itself over three meters deep into the ground.
