Everyone arrived late and well accompanied, very well loved. The twins and the young women woke up early, and they weren't very well prepared.
—We already have the position set. How will we divide ourselves?
— Cassandra, how about we have a competition? I want to test my new\old skills.
— I didn't understand Shizuko, Calisto, explain it to me.
"Yesterday you gave me a beautiful night, today I will give you a beautiful day. The Daemons still have the serpents in their bodies, the only way to remove them is surgically, which only we can do."
—I get what you're talking about. A dispute between tumor surgeons? I accept. Heleno, get the weapons.
He cracked his neck, bent his knees, and slowly stretched. His eyes turned red, and fire covered his hands, forming arcs.
— I'll take this one. Thanks, little brother. I'll go ahead and get my bearings.
— Calm down! I'm not giving you any advantages!
Calisto put the bow on her back. She took off the beautiful ring she had received and tossed it to Hana.
— Keep it for me, love?
— Of course.
Heleno sat on the ground, wheezing. Hana leaned against a tree on the sidewalk, and Margarida took off after the two young women, excited by the hunt.
Margaridas's boots were a great help in entering the small forest hidden far from the city. Her dress gave her some mobility, and her jumps were agile, but not enough to catch up with the hunters. It was amusing to Eunuch to think that Cassandra and Shizuko would use their greatest assets for a simple search for delicacies for Hana. Perhaps he would distract himself from the chase for a moment and think for a moment; this was much more than a simple dispute over who could season the food better.
Even though he was a Giant, the eunuch couldn't keep up with the two, he sat on the ground and drank the water he brought, while enjoying the sound of the wind meeting the trees.
"Look what we have here, a young invader, it's very dangerous here. I'd tell you to turn around."
"That's right, listen to him. Did you know that demons lurk in this forest? Among the most perverse, their favorite dish is child meat.
— I told you to leave.
Margarida pretended to be deaf, as a child normally does. She pretended to be mute, unconcerned by the sounds the demons made; the sound of their approach didn't scare her. She was past the age of fearing the bogeyman, and had learned that the best way to escape one was to shoot it in the head. The roots joined together, climbing up to Eunuch's hand, forming a pistol, which she fired into the bogeyman's ugly face.
— Limos? Are you okay, man?
"All right, I'm glad we're having traitor meat for dinner tonight." He pointed at Daisy. "You must be the giant who betrayed Typhon, right? It's funny that your brother became Apollo's friend, while the Echidnas became his subjects."
"I didn't like your words, not the traitor part, I'm proud of it! But you being subjects? That's a joke, it's like you're saying Typhon was ever king or never will be." He fired a shot into the air. "Not for the world!"
— I'm tired of you!
The blood that flowed from Daemon's body turned black, his eyes violet, his chin shifted, making his mouth even bigger, his body became robust, fat.
Like a runaway train, without caring about the shots he was taking, he ran with his hands on the ground, which increasingly joined the earth, giving rise to a large ball, thrown towards Margarida.
The roots served as a web for protection against balls thrown in large numbers, making it difficult for Eunuch to use the roots and move around, forcing him to climb trees.
"I'm safe here, now I need to think." He felt something on his shoulder. "What should I do?" The wind that was passing through his body was interrupted. "Cassandra and Shizuko, where were you?"
"Looking for the Daemons." He shook the branch a little as he sat down. "Thanks for your help, but this isn't the right thing to do."
— he ran his hand through Daisy's dust-covered hair. — We must remove the Echidnas from the bodies of those Daemons, if we give them to Hana, Callisto and she will finally be able to use their Dual Memory.
— I see. It all makes sense. Ladies, I'll be taking my leave.
His hands ran over the bark of the tree, while his feet sought support to descend.
— Bye! Let me know we'll be a little while! It's a complex surgery.
"Don't forget to clean yourself. If your mother sees you and gets dirty with dirt, she'll kill me. She won't let you join my squad. Go to the shadows, God bless you!"
Limos's actions froze. He didn't realize that while he was throwing the balls toward the child, the wind was different. Something was hiding within it. Galloping, growling, and barking filled the air from the treetops to the roots. All the predators in the area hid. Letting this sink in, he began to connect the dots. The child was merely bait, luring the animals elsewhere.
— The wind was so loud and now it just went silent.
— I'll take a look around. If you see any movement, attack without stopping.
The tall, thin Echidna entered among the largest trees in that place.
— Let the contest begin.
— Let's go.
The two separated one from the ground and the other from the treetops, due to their natures and abilities the choice of environment was perfect.
Calisto, a skilled hunter of forest animals, could guide them and imitate the sounds of everything from birds to panthers. She used her control of the wind, making her whistles powerful. What gives the forest its continuity? The wind, more than anything, carries the seeds where they need to be. Her positioning represents passivity; so far, she hasn't used an arrow made of air, only whistling. She observed from above.
Cassandra was an excellent strategist. Her feet were her most important weapon; just by touching the ground, she had a good understanding of the entire area. Her fire was excellent; she would shoot arrows at the ground to burn some vegetation. Depending on the scent that filled her nose, she would know if the plant was suitable for her arrows. Barefoot, she was like Chiron, one with the ground.
— You two must be really excited, right Hana?
"So much so that they made Eunuch come running back here. At the very least, this entire forest will burn like Rome at the hands of little Nero, or be devastated by the whirlwinds of the goddess of the hunt."
