[Leomon]
[Level: Champion]
[Type: Beast Man]
[Attribute: Vaccine]
[Special Move: Fist of the Beast King]
[This Beast Man Digimon is known as the "King of Beasts," and also the "Noble Hero." Amidst the many frenzied Digimon out there, Leomon possesses both strength of will as well as a sense of justice, which it has wielded to defeat scores of villains. It has a rival in the "Digimon Hunter" Ogremon, which devotes itself entirely to acts of destruction. Leomon hones its formidable physique with daily training so that it can withstand all attacks, and it kill foes with its ultimate technique, the special move Fist of the Beast King. On Leomon's waist hangs Shishiou-maru, the Beast Sword with a will of its own.]
Leomon was a recurring character in the Digimon franchise. He had always helped the protagonists of the Digimon series, time and time again, and sacrificed his life just as many times.
Tombstone's eyes widen, his expression actually morphing from that permanent scowl. "What?!"
Ogremon is even more shocked. "Y-You! How can you also be here!"
Looks like I'm not the only one who has a history with these guys. I vaguely recall Leomon always tangling with Ogremon in pretty much every iteration of Digimon. Nemesis is as good a word as any.
My thoughts get cut short when I see the five-minute timer ticking down on my Digivice. Gotta act fast. "Leomon, attack!"
Leomon roars, a sound that shakes the entire penthouse, and leaps toward Tombstone. The brute crosses his arms, bracing for the blow, but Leomon's blade connects with a resounding crash. The force of the impact sends Tombstone flying backward, smashing through a glass coffee table and skidding across the polished floor.
Holy crap, Leomon is strong.
Ogremon's focus shifts, and he stomps forward, bone club in hand. "Leomon! I've been waiting for this!"
"Ogremon," Leomon responds, his voice a low growl, "your actions have consequences. I will stop you."
This is so freakin' cool! I'm watching a classic Digimon rivalry play out right in front of me!
Leomon charges, Shishiou-maru singing through the air. Ogremon meets him head-on, swinging his bone club with the force of a wrecking ball. The two collide in a flurry of blows, sparks flying as metal meets bone. Leomon's blade finds its mark, slicing across Ogremon's thick hide, but the ogre's club slams into Leomon's side, sending him staggering back.
Gatomon and BlackGatomon seize the opportunity, launching themselves at Tombstone, who is just now getting to his feet. Gatomon slashes with her claws, while BlackGatomon bites and claws at his legs. Tombstone, still dazed from Leomon's initial attack, struggles to fend them off.
Leomon recovers and rejoins the fray, engaging Ogremon in a furious exchange of blows. The room trembles with each impact, furniture shattering and walls cracking under the force of their battle. Ogremon unleashes his 'Pummel Whack,' a dark energy blast erupting from his fist. Leomon counters with his signature 'Fist of the Beast King,' a matching lion-headed blast. The two energies meet in a spectacular explosion, sending shockwaves that buffet everyone in the room.
I can't take my eyes off Leomon and Ogremon. Those two are going at it like a couple of pros.
"Don't forget about us!" Gatomon shouts, dodging Tombstone's wild swing. "We're not exactly chopped liver, you know!"
BlackGatomon is a blur of claws and teeth. "Yeah, tough guy! Try dealing with this!"
Tombstone is tough, sure, but Gatomon and BlackGatomon are Champion-level Digimon. They could crack a Kuwagamon's carapace without breaking a sweat. I watch in awe as they dance around him, a whirlwind of fur and fury. Tombstone swings, but they're too fast, too agile. Gatomon's 'Lightning Paw' leaves streaks across his grayish skin, while BlackGatomon's attacks keep him off balance.
"Argh!" Tombstone roars, finally connecting with a haymaker that sends BlackGatomon skidding across the floor.
"BlackGatomon!" I shout.
Before I can react, Gatomon is on him again, claws flashing. Tombstone tries to grab her, but she's too quick, leaping onto his shoulders and raking her claws across his face. He stumbles, roaring in pain and rage, and collapses.
Damn, Tombstone went down quick. That's the power of a Champion, I guess.
BlackGatomon shakes her head, recovering. "Show off," she mutters, but I can see a smirk playing on her lips.
"He was nothing," Gatomon says, puffing out her chest. "Did you really think he could handle us?"
As Tombstone falls, I notice a black aura dissipating from his body, fading like smoke in the wind. That connection is broken.
Ogremon staggers, his form flickering for a moment. The dark energy that seemed to empower him is visibly diminished. He looks noticeably weaker.
"No!" Ogremon bellows, his voice losing some of its former power. "This can't be happening!"
"Leomon," I command, pointing at the weakened Ogremon. "Finish this!"
Leomon nods, his eyes fixed on his rival. He takes a deep breath, and a golden light begins to emanate from his body. He raises Shishiou-maru high above his head, the blade gleaming with holy energy.
"It ends here, Ogremon," Leomon declares, his voice resonating with righteous fury. "Fist of the Beast King!"
Leomon lunges forward, channeling all his power into a single, devastating blow. A massive lion-headed energy blast erupts from his fist, hurtling toward Ogremon with incredible speed. The blast slams into Ogremon, engulfing him in a blinding explosion of light and data.
I brace myself against the shockwave, shielding my eyes. When the light fades, Ogremon is gone, reduced to nothing more than swirling digital code. The code coalesces, reforming into a familiar shape – a Digi-Egg.
Gatomon and BlackGatomon are all over me, purring and nuzzling.
"We did it, Ethan!" Gatomon exclaims, rubbing her cheek against mine.
"We kicked some serious butt!" BlackGatomon adds, punctuating the sentence with a playful nip at my ear.
"Yeah, you guys were amazing," I say, returning the hug. "Seriously, you both did great."
I turn my attention to Leomon, who is standing tall and proud amidst the wreckage. I give him a nod of respect. "Thanks, Leomon. You were incredible out there."
He acknowledges with a solemn nod of his own. "It was an honor to fight alongside you, Ethan. Ogremon will not cause any trouble for a while."
Just as he finishes speaking, Leomon's body shimmers, and he fades away like digital code, disappearing back into the Digivice's data stream.
I pick up Ogremon's Digi-Egg, feeling a strange mix of satisfaction and guilt. He was a pretty tough opponent. But, hey, a mission's a mission.
I point the Digivice at the egg, watching as it dematerializes in a flash of light. "See ya, buddy," I mutter. "Maybe you will come back with better tendencies".
As the DigiEgg disappears, a screen pops up on the Digivice, displaying big letters. Score!
[Mission Complete!]
[Rewards: Supply Boxes x10, Digi-Gloves.]
[Level Up!]
[Level 3 -> 5]
I can't help but grin. Another mission down! And I jumped from Level 3 to 5! Plus, these new Digi-Gloves sound intriguing.
I glance at Tombstone, who is still out cold. Well, he's definitely not getting up anytime soon.
"Alright, you two," I say to Gatomon and BlackGatomon, "time to call in the authorities. But first..."
I start searching the office, looking for anything that could help put this guy away for good. And maybe something to help me pay rent. After a few minutes of rummaging, I strike gold, discovering a hidden wall safe behind a gaudy painting of what looks like a dog playing poker. Seriously, Tombstone?
With the help of Gatomon and BlackGatomon. We pried open the safe.
Inside, there are stacks of cash and a bunch of ledgers. I grab one of the ledgers and leave it open on his desk. It seems to have all his transactions and names of contacts. The cops will probably find that useful.
Then, I relieve him of some of the cash for my rent. It seems like a fair exchange. After all, I did take down his operation.
"Okay, girls, let's get out of here before the cops arrive," I say, stuffing a hefty stack of bills into my backpack. "Wouldn't want to stick around to explain the property damage, and that Leomon might have been a little rough."
With a final glance at the penthouse, we slip out the way we came, leaving Tombstone and his dog painting for the authorities to find.
I activate Connect Jump on my Digivice. "Let's ditch this scene before the boys in blue arrive!"
With a flash of digital energy, we phase through the walls and into the nearest phone line, leaving the penthouse and a future headache for the police.
