Asgard
Three days passed in the blink of an eye. Thor was in his room, getting ready to go to Nidavellir.
He was excited to meet the dwarves. His father, Odin, had promised that they would take him out of the palace for a bit.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door and called out.
Knock, knock.
"Who is it?" Thor asked.
He went to the door and opened it.
It was Loki, dressed more elegantly than usual.
"Mother is calling for you. She asked you to come to her room and get ready," Loki said.
Thor huffed.
"I don't need her to pick my clothes—I know how to dress myself," he replied.
Loki looked at him and raised an eyebrow sarcastically.
"Brother, I didn't mean to say this, but your sense of style is terrible… remember the last time?" Loki teased.
Thor paused, thinking, then remembered what his brother meant.
"Okay… but in my mind, it looked really cool," Thor said.
"Exactly—just in your mind. Not in everyone else's," Loki muttered.
Thor gave in.
"Where is she?" he asked.
"In her room…"
"Alright, I'll go. See you later," Thor said.
Thor walked to Frigga's room and entered. Inside, he saw his mother sitting on the royal bed. Next to her lay a pair of fine clothes, much more elegant than usual.
"Mother? You wanted to see me?" Thor asked.
"Yes, I asked Loki to call you," Frigga replied.
Thor wondered what it was about, but asked anyway:
"What do you want me to do?"
"Put this on and come down. Your father is waiting to take you and Loki to Nidavellir. Don't take too long," Frigga instructed.
"Yes…" Thor replied.
After his mother left, Thor put on the clothes—they were beautiful and comfortable. Then he went to look for his father in the palace.
Odin was on his throne, and Loki was in the room.
Thor approached his father, with his brother standing near the steps of the throne.
"Father…" Thor said.
Odin was holding a battle spear that looked incredibly powerful and was dressed impressively.
"Thor, I've been waiting for you. Are you ready?" Odin asked.
"Yes," Thor replied.
Odin stood and said, "Then let's go."
He descended the steps and walked outside with his sons. There, they found Heimdall and some soldiers mounted on horses, while two soldiers had dismounted and were waiting for Odin.
Odin approached Heimdall and asked,
"How are things in the Nine Realms?"
"They are well, Majesty, just as you planned," Heimdall replied.
"That's good. I hope it stays that way. And what about Eitri—how is that dwarf doing?" Odin asked.
"Eitri is waiting for you and your sons. He and his people are well," Heimdall said.
"That's great. Let's not waste time, then," Odin replied.
Heimdall signaled, and two Asgardian soldiers dismounted. Pulling their horses closer, one of them said,
"Father of all, it's an honor. Please use this…" The soldier knelt, handing Odin the reins of his horse.
The other soldier did the same for Loki and Thor.
"Your Highness, take my horse," he said.
Thor thanked him, and Odin nodded with a modest gesture, mounting the horse. He called Loki to go with him, but Loki chose to ride with their father. Thor rode with Heimdall.
They rode toward a rainbow bridge in Asgard—the Bifrost.
It was a bridge connecting Asgard to other worlds. With its immense destructive power, Heimdall always guarded it to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.
Thor, Odin, Loki, Heimdall, and a few trusted soldiers reached the end of the Bifrost. At the end, they found a room that resembled an observatory.
They entered with their horses. Heimdall dismounted and grasped his long sword.
"What is he going to do?" Loki asked curiously.
"See for yourself," Odin replied.
Heimdall then inserted his sword into a mechanism. As he did, the room began to spin.
"Safe travels, Majesty. See you soon," Heimdall said.
Odin turned to him.
"Heimdall, as you have done all these years, watch over Asgard while I am away. Protect our people."
"Of course, Majesty," Heimdall replied.
Thor, to be honest, was a bit nervous. He had never traveled via the Bifrost before, and he wanted to ask a few questions.
"Wait a moment, Heimdall… I have some questions before—" he started, but before he could finish, everyone in the room—except Heimdall, who was standing slightly apart—was pulled by the Bifrost and shot across the universe in a beam of rainbow light.
In moments, Thor and Loki were in space. They could faintly see the universe around them, moving at incredible speed. Within seconds, they completed the journey and arrived at Nidavellir.
Upon arrival, Thor felt dizzy and fell from his horse, landing on the ground. The speed had made both him and Loki slightly woozy.
After a few seconds, Thor lifted his head slightly and realized where he was.
"Wow… okay, this is amazing," Thor murmured.
He was awestruck by his surroundings. Nidavellir was incredible. The dwarves were anything but small—some were over 9.8 feet tall, while others reached 13.1 feet.
Many of them moved around carrying weapons, forging equipment, and other tools.
The most impressive sight was the star at the center of Nidavellir.
The city was essentially a massive iron ring, with a blazing star at its center that powered the creation of the universe's most powerful weapons. The star lit up the entire city.
Odin interrupted Thor's admiration.
"You two, back on your horses. We don't have all day," Odin said.
Thor and Loki, honestly, wanted to explore, look around, and see everything. Loki asked,
"Father, can we walk around?"
Odin replied,
"Not now. You can play later, but right now, someone is waiting to see you. After that, you'll have time."
