Chapter 13 - MASSACRE IN THE AUCTION ROOM

The man began firing the machine guns he had built into his fingers, killing many people.

Nine dodged some of the bullets but saw more people being hit. A wounded woman grabbed his leg.

"Please save me, sir... ah..." she said for the last time before a bullet pierced her head.

"Damn, I don't know if I'll have nightmares after this," said Nine, leaving the room.

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! There's danger here!" shouted Nine, trying to call out to the others, but they didn't answer.

Nine arrived at a place where he noticed something and hid in a locker that was there. Then two people arrived.

"Hey, do you think this plan to cause a commotion, kill everyone, and use my ability to get rid of the bodies is a good idea?" said a girl.

"Well, assuming that's what the boss wants, I think so. Besides, nothing will happen, but there's also something that bothers me about that locker," said a man, walking over to the locker.

Without warning, he stabbed the locker with a knife, killing whoever was inside. Then they opened the locker, and a corpse fell to the floor, which was another person who was already dead.

"What the hell, that guy was already dead before. Damn it, I just finished him off," said the man, inspecting the body.

"Damn, you almost killed me. Luckily, I switched places with that guy. Good luck for me, don't you think?" said Nine, pointing a knife at the man's neck.

"Tell me your names and why you're here, to see if there's a mask inside," asked Nine, still threatening.

"My name is Carlos Johnson and hers is Elena Jojiko, but we don't have to tell you our motive. You know, we just follow orders," said the man named Carlos.

"I see, then there's no choice but to kill us," said Nine, cutting his hand a little.

"Just get out of here, Elena. Leave him to me. I'll take care of him," said Carlos, getting ready.

"Okay, but don't take too long, or Kiria will get mad at us," said Elena, leaving.

"Well, now it's just you and me. Let's see who dies first," said Carlos, ready for action.

"Well, this guy is crazy. I'll take care of sending him to a place more painful than hell," thought Nine, smiling.

In a minute, the two were already in a frantic clash of blows. Carlos used his ability to create a ball, which he kicked.

The ball hit Nine, who only managed to block the impact. Nine was sent flying, crashing into a wall.

The debris from the wall fell on top of Nine, who got up, removing the debris from on top of him.

Then Nine's cut wound opened up further, creating a pool of blood that spurted everywhere.

"Wow, is that what you want to do, bleed to death?" said Carlos, laughing.

"No, but you'll find out in a few minutes. When you see it, you won't be impressed, but don't get too confident," said Nine.

Nine puts his hand in the blood and starts to boil it, doing so at such a high temperature that it ends up creating a screen of smoke throughout the hallway.

"You think you can hide from me with all this smoke?" said Nine.

Suddenly, Nine appears behind him. Carlos manages to dodge him, but Nine grabs his arm and uses his ability to boil the blood in Carlos's arm.

This causes it to overheat and melt, but Carlos continues to fight.

Crack! More balls bounce off him, and since they're coming from all directions, Nine just dodges them.

He waits for the right moment, continuing to dodge. Suddenly, several balls hit Nine, ending up crashing into a wall.

Carlos was ready to prepare another attack, but suddenly something happened. His body stopped responding. He couldn't move.

"What the hell did you do to me? Why can't I move?" said Carlos, on his knees.

"Wow, I didn't think the effect would be so fast. You must have inhaled a lot of smoke," said Nine, wiping the blood from his lip.

"What the hell do you mean by inhaling the smoke?" asked Carlos.

"Well, you see, my body has drunk a lot of paralyzing animal poison, taking small sips to become immune to poisons," replied Nine.

"What the hell do you mean, Pata Vol? Being immune doesn't make sense!" shouted Carlos.

"Let me finish, okay? You see, by becoming immune, I accumulated too much poison in my body, which is in my blood, so the smoke had the poison in it," said Nine.

"So my mistake was just trusting you?" asked Carlos.

"Well, in simple terms, yes, if there's nothing else. Besides, how you die has nothing to do with it," replied Nine.

Then Nine put his hand on Carlos' neck, starting to melt his throat. The blood clotted heavily, and the heat in his throat made him suffer greatly until he died.

"Hmph... I told you I would make you suffer like hell," said Nine, leaving to chase after the girl.

Nine walks through several corridors searching, but strangely, he doesn't see any corpses. He tries to contact the others, but communications suddenly fail. Then a voice is heard.

"Hey, you're a friend of these three, right? They need treatment now," said a voice.

Nine turns around when he hears the voice and sees Vell, Eight, and Ten being carried by a person who is badly injured.

"Who the hell are you, and why are the others like this?" asked Nine.

"There's no time to explain. I'll just tell you that a guy whose name starts with S and ends with O, like Safari, is the one who did this to them," replied Aron.

"And how can I believe you and know you're not lying to me?" said Nine.

"Well, if you don't believe me, then kill me once and for all and tend to their wounds afterwards," said Aron.

"Well, guys like that aren't much fun to kill. Okay, I believe you, but I'm not good at healing wounds, and I don't even have a first aid kit," said Nine.

"Then why don't you call someone to come and take them somewhere else to be treated?" said Aron.

"That's impossible. I tried calling the others and the organization, but those guys must have cut the phone lines," said Nine.

"I see, then we'll have to get them out of here. You take them away, I'll stay behind. I have business with someone, and this is a job for a hitman," said Aron.

"So you're a hitman, I see. Well, I always thought that hitmen and mercenaries weren't so different," said Nine.

"You say that because they're also hired for murder, protection, and robbery," said Aron.

"Exactly, there's no other way, but you see, I'll go after them myself," said Nine, carrying the others away.

"Well, I'd better go now," said Aron, running down the hallways.

Elsewhere, Five was still fighting with the girl, the two still clashing swords, the girl cutting Five.

Luckily for Five, it was only the clothes he was wearing. He moved away for a moment.

"Damn, I don't know why, but my instincts tell me not to let her hurt me, but if I can't get close to her, how can I face her?" thought Five.

The girl suddenly stopped, stood still, took a breath, and began to listen. Five didn't understand until he detected someone's presence.

"I see what you were waiting for. You wanted him and me to fight until we were exhausted, so you could kill us when we were weak," said the girl.

"Wow, you detected me. That's not what you'd expect from murderers," said the man.

"What are you playing at? You were there watching for a long time. I don't believe you were just there watching," said Five.

"Well, it looks like you caught me, but you're going to die," said the man.

"Die? Who are you kidding? Don't you know who you're dealing with and what's on your shoulder?" said the girl, seeing that she had the man's shoulder.

"It's just a tattoo of a skull with an open mouth, and that number in its mouth. Wait..." thought the girl.

"The skull tattoo and the number can only mean one thing," thought the girl.

"You're from the Shadow Brigade. Are all of you here? Damn, if I had known, I would have joined the leader," said the girl.

"It seems you do know who we are, and now you'll know who you're messing with, right? Now you'll beg for your life," said the man.

"My name is Kensaro Antaz, and I am the sixth member to join the brigade," said the man named Kensaro.

"The Shadow Brigade? Who are they, and who is this guy?" thought Five.

Suddenly, Kensaro threw some molotov at them and then shot at them. Five and the girl dodged, putting some distance between themselves and him.
