Grace's POV
"Wait, the divorce lawyer is already in LA? That was quick..." I said, surprised. "Are you certain we can actually do this? I mean, considering how much you trust him, he must be some hotshot divorce attorney. There's no way he'd drop everything just for my case, right?"
"He flew out here specifically for you," Carlos said firmly. "Let's meet with him tonight, or first thing tomorrow. We need to get your divorce finalized as quickly as possible."
"You're really in a rush, aren't you?" I pointed out. "Planning to marry me the second my divorce goes through?"
"Absolutely," Carlos answered without missing a beat. "I've got it all mapped out in my head. Just need to make it happen."
Carlos's impulsiveness and confidence still caught me off guard. Despite his constant reassurances that he'd marry me no matter what, his love felt too intense, too sudden for comfort.
Not that I minded his attention.
