Chapter 47 - Like a Stepchild

Matthew Murdock!

This guy hasn't become Daredevil yet, but he's already quite famous online.

After all, a blind man who can graduate from Columbia University's law school is definitely more noteworthy than those contestants on some talent show.

If it weren't for Matthew's dislike of ostentation, his story alone would make him a role model for the inspirational, and running for Manhattan district councilor would be no problem.

Currently, Matthew is diligently training in his apartment. Graduating from law school and passing the bar exam are two completely different things.

Although being a lawyer is a high-paying profession, this Matthew guy is broke. Even his tuition fees were covered by student loans.

Moreover, this kid has been overflowing with sympathy since he was young. The reason he wants to be a lawyer isn't because he's interested in a lawyer's earning potential, but because he wants to openly advocate for the innocent.

So, even though he was a highly educated graduate of Columbia University, it was only natural that he ended up living in a dump like Hell's Kitchen!

"That'll be forty-five dollars, please!"

The taxi driver, a man with a full beard, said to Li Qingyuan, who was getting out of the car.

After dropping off Wanda and her brother at school, he had gathered his equipment and taken a taxi to Hell's Kitchen, ready to meet the Night Devil!

Why take a taxi instead of driving himself?

Because the GPS global navigation system wasn't widely used yet, and with the complicated and convoluted roads of New York, did he, a newcomer who'd only been here for less than half a month, think he could find his way around?

Besides, Hell's Kitchen was notorious for its chaotic security. He didn't want to go meet the Night Devil and then come back to find his new car had been stolen.

"Sir, I'll give you a word of advice: whatever you're here for, it's best not to stay past six o'clock in the afternoon!" The taxi driver, after collecting the money, didn't immediately leave but instead advised him.

"Thank you for the kind offer, but I'm just here to see a friend!" Li Qingyuan expressed his gratitude to the driver's friendly suggestion.

Hell's Kitchen looked no different from the outside world during the day, except that the buildings were a little more dilapidated.

Shops were open everywhere along the roads, and people of all kinds were relaxing and shopping here. It was impossible to see that this was the breeding ground for crime in all of Manhattan, the newbie village of the Marvel world!

But these were just appearances. Unlike the neighboring Queens, Hell's Kitchen was absolutely prosperous and thriving during the day. But at night...

Forget it, he wasn't here to fight crime anyway.

According to information obtained from online research, Matthew Murdock should be living in an old apartment in the third alley on the corner of 48th Street. Although he didn't know which floor Matthew lived on, as the saying goes, the answer is at your fingertips. A blind man, and a highly educated blind man at that, would definitely be the most eye-catching sight no matter where he was.

"Who are you looking for?"

Matthew opened the door in surprise, using his mind to sense the person who had appeared in front of his door.

The fact that someone had inquired about his address two blocks away five minutes ago made Matthew feel very puzzled.

He was currently just an intern lawyer, studying hard at home to prepare for his certification exams. Because of the upcoming exams, he didn't have the energy to go out and about every night, and the name Daredevil hadn't even been established yet.

So Matthew really couldn't understand why someone would specifically come looking for him.

"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Seeing Matthew, who was wearing sunglasses in front of him, Li Qingyuan happily extended his hand.

It had to be said, this Daredevil guy looked pretty good. Even though wearing sunglasses in broad daylight didn't make him look like a good person, his rugged face and upright physique could definitely attract a lot of women who were into looks.

It seemed that this guy, despite being blind, was actually quite popular with women?

It was even said that this guy had a lot of untold stories with Black Widow, the top sister of Marvel.

However, considering Black Widow's chaotic personal life, it was really not easy to find a few people among the Marvel superheroes who didn't have any connection with her.

"Are you going to shake hands with me?" After a slight pause, Matthew asked uncertainly.

Even though his super-sensitive senses had already told him that the other person seemed to be reaching out a hand, Matthew knew that his current persona was that of a blind man. Blind people shouldn't be able to sense other people's movements so easily.

So he chose to play dumb.

"Yes, Mr. Murdock!" Li Qingyuan kept the smile on his face, while inwardly he began to scorn the supposed blind man in front of him, imagining all sorts of merciless humiliations.

Matthew's ears twitched slightly. He sensed that the other person's heartbeat seemed to have sped up a little, which left him completely baffled.

Anyone would be bewildered if a person they'd never met suddenly appeared at their door, especially if that person had come specifically to find them.

However, he didn't sense any malice from the other person. So, after thinking for a couple of seconds, Matthew still reached out his hand.

'Host has made contact with node character Matthew Murdock, initiating third teleportation qualification!'

The system's cold prompt arrived as expected, and Li Qingyuan couldn't help but clench his fist in excitement.

Feeling the force coming from the other person's hand, Matthew was a little puzzled.

What's going on? Why the sudden pressure? Is he trying to have a grip strength contest with me?

Judging by his heartbeat, this guy's physical condition seemed much stronger than the average person, but why would he want to compete with me?

Li Qingyuan was naturally unaware of Matthew's thoughts; his timeline should already have been frozen by the system.

As the familiar feeling of dizziness came, Li Qingyuan immediately closed his eyes.

But as he was being transported, he couldn't help but wonder.

Matthew Murdock, as a superhero with a movie and three independent TV series, even if he's weak, the traffic is there. It's natural that the system would consider him a key node character.

But Grant Ward was just a minor villain who appeared in a TV series!

Currently, he has encountered four characters from the Marvel storyline.

Wanda, Ward, and Matthew!

All three of them have their own exclusive worlds, which is truly baffling.

That kid, Pietro, is he really an orphan?
