"
You owe me one!" Nick Fury, his face darkened with anger, didn't bother wasting time with Frank, who was feigning ignorance. Instead, he spoke directly to him.
"Fine, consider it a debt," Frank conceded, no longer teasing. Although he didn't care about being wanted, he still needed this guy's help to smooth things over regarding the four turtles.
He had met the four mutant turtles living in the sewers while he was recuperating recently, and they had become good friends, even though they hadn't known each other for long.
Compared to the complex and ever-changing stances of humans, Frank found the four turtles to be more trustworthy than the black-faced man in front of him.
So, even though he knew owing this guy a favor was a very unlucky thing, Frank had no choice but to accept it.
"I need you to repay that favor right now," Nick Fury said quickly, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
He and Frank were practically brothers-in-arms. He knew that Frank was a top-tier expert in firearms, combat, and intelligence gathering. It was impossible for him to find an agent who could compare to him in all aspects.
It's just that Frank's temper is too stubborn. He used to be persuaded to work for the country, but ever since what happened to his family, Frank wouldn't lift a finger for anyone!
So, even though he knew two days ago that Frank had been sent here to recover, he waited until today, after he had handled everything, to come.
The purpose was to ensure that the other party had no chance to refuse!
"What do you want me to do?" Frank secretly cursed in his heart. He knew this guy was rotten to the core, and he was definitely a man who wouldn't do anything without getting something in return.
"Keep an eye on the family that's taking care of you!" Nick Fury didn't specify what he meant. With Frank's abilities, he would naturally know what he wanted.
"They're also my friends!" Frank frowned. Although he hadn't met the head of this family yet, since the four little turtles were willing to entrust themselves to the other party, it meant the turtles approved of this family.
For the little turtles, they desperately needed the approval of others, and so did Frank.
Only those who have lost something will cherish it more. He had very few friends left and didn't want to lose them because he was helping this damn black-faced guy.
"I just need their intel. If you're unwilling, I might have to find another way to get it. Believe me, you won't want to see that!" Nick Fury said viciously.
"Understood!" Frank closed his eyes in anger, deciding to go to sleep. He felt that if he kept talking to this guy, he would definitely lose control of his hands.
"Contact me as usual. See ya!" Nick Fury walked happily to the window and leaped out.
The footage ended there, as the Red Queen hadn't yet deployed her surveillance network outside.
To be honest, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s surveillance technology was the most advanced in the world. If Nick Fury hadn't come to Li Qingyuan's territory, with his signal blocker, he could have ignored 99.99% of the world's surveillance facilities.
"This black-haired guy is really a pain in the ass!" Although he had already guessed it would be that bald guy, seeing his annoying face still made him feel very unpleasant.
"Can't we just kill him? I'm confident I can shoot him dead with one shot!" Jill held her gun, eager to try it out. Having just mastered bullet time, she wanted to practice.
"He can't die for now. Besides, if he dies here, I'll be in big trouble!" Li Qingyuan shook his head helplessly. That black-haired bald guy was indeed hateful, but his status was what it was.
He was, after all, the leader of the S.H.I.E.L.D. branch of the world-class organization Hydra. If he died, wouldn't a bunch of Hydra people come knocking at the door?
Nick Fury, as annoying as he was, was at least a somewhat upstanding individual who, at the very least, followed some rules. Those Hydra guys, though? Forget about it!
Besides, it's better to know your enemy. Before, he didn't know what they were planning. Now that he knew they were sending the Punisher to keep an eye on him, he had nothing to worry about.
After all, he was planning to be a good, law-abiding citizen in the main world. He didn't want to do anything too outrageous, so having someone watching him wasn't a problem.
Furthermore, he had the Red Queen, an artificial intelligence, looking out for him. Nick Fury wouldn't be able to figure out his background in a matter of years.
As for what would happen in three to five years?
Forget whether S.H.I.E.L.D. would even still exist by then. Who would even care about him at that point?
Once Iron Man came out, the entire Marvel universe would enter a period of hero proliferation. The worldview of Earthlings would be constantly refreshed in a short amount of time. His little thing wouldn't even matter then.
Speaking of which, the battle on Sixth Avenue had been over for more than ten days. Why hadn't Tony Stark gone to Congress to give his speech yet?
Could it be that his injuries were too severe, and he died in the hospital?
What he didn't know was that at the top of Stark Tower, a certain someone who claimed to be recovering from injuries was flipping through all his files.
"Li Qingyuan? Italian-Chinese, with two half-siblings? No, this information is fake. His real background is a stowaway from Sokovia, and those two younger siblings were actually his neighbors?" Tony Stark swiftly scrolled through the screen in front of him, stripping away all of the layers of disguises.
"There's nothing remarkable about him from the data. Jarvis, are you sure you didn't make a mistake?" After flipping through the files for a while and finding nothing useful, Tony Stark asked with a puzzled expression.
About ten days ago, after Jarvis detected the Red Queen's traces, he started covertly tracking the signal source as Tony instructed. Coupled with Jill's behavior at the time, the two of them quickly appeared in Tony's sights.
Because he knew that the other party should also possess an artificial intelligence, Tony hadn't allowed Jarvis to invade the Red Queen's database these past few days. Instead, he was using other methods to gather information.
After all, this was America, and anything could be solved with money!
And it just so happened that he, Tony Stark, was a rich man, famous all over the world.
So, whatever information he wanted to investigate, he could easily get his hands on it, even without hacking into someone else's computer!
