After that hot chase Maya had to be careful, even though she had three classes after the incident in which weirdly had no drama, like she had expected, or maybe it was just a calm before the storm, she had to prepare herself both physically, mentally and emotionally 'sigh'. It was already launch break, everyone had left the class for launch at the cafeteria "Hey arnt you gonna pack up so we could go have lunch" Kelly asked Maya as it was only both of them left "nah am good here" Maya politely smiled "you are really stubborn Maya which I admire but please do not get into more troubles" Kelly warned "lol you sound like my mum right now" Maya laughed shaking her head "oh really, well my darling daughter be good and stay out of the big bad wolf Adrian's way, I'll be back soon" Kelly joked and both girls laughed hard "alright am going" Kelly said as she left.
Maya had no idea how but she really liked Kelly and felt almost free with her unlike any other rich kid here Kelly was so easy to relate with and she had little or no friends. Maya decided to read just to kill time just then someone walked in it was her new friend, "Hi" Xavier said with a smile, that smile that didn't leave his face, Maya only smiled back "wanna go have launch in the library?" he suggested "is that even allowed" Maya asked with creased brows "nope but I have my ways" he said me a mischievous glint in his eyes "am not interested" Maya declared looking so bored "hey since when did the fearless princess became so afraid" after so much persuasion from Xavier she had to give in to his ridiculous idea. It was quite risky and tense while sneaking food into the library plus sneaking pass the sleeping libarian, obviously neither of them had a libary card, but Maya found their childish behaviour so amusing.
Meanwhile Adrian and his circle were having launch, not at the cafeteria, but in a luxurious space Adrian owned, it was like a casual legal hangout spot, like a sitting room well furnished they'll hang out there talking about lacrosse, girls, parties, and other stuffs. "Hey man where's Xavier" Matt asked Adrian "how should I know" Adrian casually shrugged "Hey dudes I hear Ariana is throwing a party this weekend she's celebrating her winning the debate championship this year" Another guy Graham chimed in "Wow really, damn guys Ariana literally throws the best parties ever" Matt exclaimed "yh, I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world" Reed dreamily states "yh if we get invited" Graham brutally states "how can we not get invited we are like the party itself" Reed boasted "You're coming right?" Matt asks Adrian who seems engulfed in his phone "yh" he says then gets up to leave "hey man where are you going?" Reed ask "Not any of your concern" Adrian mutters as he walks out "Mr grumpy" all three boys dramatically yells at him.
"I don't have time to spare, so tell me why am here" Adrian asks carefully leaning against a wall with his hands tugged inside his pockets, staring at four students "you asked us to deal with her, so we have another plan but....." the boy trailed off "speak" Adrian muttered clearly irritated "we are gonna need some footages removed" another one said "we don't have access to the camera room" another pointed out Adrian pinched the middle of his forehead wondering how useless they were "fine I'll do it" he said turning his back and with long strides he disappears.
Launch was already over and Maya had her chemistry class, Maya kept wondering why Xavier never showed up in any classes even after saying he was her classmate and each time she asked he just says stuff that makes no sense to her "bye" Maya said with a genuine smile on her face she sure did like being around Xavier although something still didn't feel right "bye for now princess, next time we are doing it somewhere else" he had that mischievous look with an innocent smile "get lost" Maya said jokingly then she turned and left now Xavier had to find Adrian to know what he was up to.
He headed straight to the classroom there he saw Adrian listening to music on his earpod luckily class hasn't started "hey" Xavier tapped his shoulder "where have you been?" Adrian asked looking him all over "missed me bestie?" Xavier joked while Adrian just rolled his eyes at him "hey, so tell me what plans you have for that girl, the one who um... Slapped you?" Xavier asked straightly "Since when are you interested, I thought it was joke to you" "yh common man am just curious" Xavier asked he couldn't just tell him to back off and not hurt Maya because he knew that Maya had offended Adrian and he also knew Adrian would never approve of him having anything to do with a scholarship student he didn't want to risk getting into a fight with Adrian as he is like a brother, Xavier didn't actually know how to go about this but he just doesn't want Adrian to hurt Maya "she's being setup right now" Adrian dropped the bomb "and I have it happen cleanly" Adrian added 'oh no' Xavier panicked "arnt u going low with this childish nonsense, besides she probably think you were just an annoying bully when she slapped you" Xavier cautiously picked his words "hmmmm does anyone bully anywhere without having power to do so she's really dumb let's say she didn't know who I was, well now she is gonna know and will forever know Adrian Cole" Adrian said with a laugh he sounded just like a psychopath "geez Adrian...." "since when did you care?" Adrian asked suspiciously "now" Xavier said "whatever man" Adrian said nonchalantly as he resumed his music
Xavier just got up and left heading down the hallway to Maya's class although his presence might attract attention he didn't know what to do maybe he should let her face this one on her own and just try again, if he takes the risk and warns her now she'll definitely ask him how he knew and probably find out he is the best friend of her predator
'oh god' Xavier exclaimed.
