Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Something Awakened?

After they finished shopping, Axamu and the girl returned home. The moment the door closed behind them, Axamu's mind was already elsewhere.

He couldn't wait any longer.

He headed straight to the simulation room.

The girl followed behind him, tilting her head curiously as she hugged the Shark Scale box to her chest.

Axamu turned around and held out his hand.

"Can I see your Beyblade for a bit?"

She blinked once, then nodded without hesitation.

"Yes."

She placed Shark Scale into his palm with both hands, carefully, as if handing him something precious.

Axamu smiled faintly.

"Thanks."

He then opened his other hand. Two familiar gleams of white light flowed out from his inventory.

White Cobalt Dragoon.

White Scorpion Spear.

They floated slightly above his palm, spinning slowly like small moons.

The girl's eyes widened.

Axamu looked at the air.

"System."

A window appeared.

[Beyblade X Combination Function Activated]

Please insert the Beyblades to be combined.

He slowly lifted Shark Scale, Cobalt Dragoon, and Scorpion Spear toward the glowing circle on the screen.

To the girl, it looked like he was just… pushing Beyblades into nothingness.

Then — they vanished.

Her mouth opened slightly.

"Woah…"

Axamu glanced at her and chuckled.

"It's magic," he said lightly. "Our secret, okay? Don't tell anyone."

She nodded immediately, eyes sparkling.

"Secret. I won't tell anyone."

The system window shifted.

[Combining…]

Cobalt Dragoon + Scorpion Spear + Shark Scale

A circular loading symbol began to spin.

Then the air trembled.

Light burst from the window.

Axamu squinted.

The glow grew — brighter, hotter — spilling through the room like a miniature sun.

The entire penthouse was swallowed in white radiance. Curtains glowed. Walls glowed. Even the shadows were erased.

Outside, clouds suddenly rolled. The sky darkened, as if night fell in the middle of day.

Yet their home alone shone — an island of blinding light.

The girl shielded her eyes with both arms.

"Axamu—!"

"Argh—!"

He couldn't open his eyes either.

The light roared silently, powerful yet soundless — like fate rewriting itself.

And then—

Silence.

Darkness returned.

The system voice rang clearly in his head.

[Combination Complete!]

A final pulse of soft light gathered before Axamu's hands.

Something slowly descended into existence.

A new Beyblade.

Shrouded in lingering glow, impossible to see clearly — but its presence was overwhelming, heavy, like pressure in the air.

Axamu stared, heart pounding.

---

The Beyblade hovering above Axamu's palms slowly rotated, wrapped in pale light.

Then the system window flickered into view.

[Congratulations! You have acquired — Beyblade X: Longinus!]

Another window immediately overlapped it.

[The legendary creature has awakened from its slumber… somewhere in this world.]

Axamu's eyes narrowed.

"…Legendary creature…?"

Before he could think deeper, the light around the Beyblade faded at last.

The shape revealed itself.

A pure white Beyblade X.

Its design was sharp, almost feral — dragon fangs curved along the energy layer, with streaks of silver patterns running like scars of lightning. The metal gleamed coldly, as if it had been sleeping for centuries and only just remembered how to breathe.

Axamu exhaled slowly.

"This is…"

He couldn't even finish the sentence.

Because it was beautiful.

He glanced sideways.

The girl stood frozen — mouth slightly open, eyes round, reflecting the shining blade.

Shock. Awe. Excitement.

All at once.

Her hands trembled with contained joy.

Axamu smiled.

He gently took the Beyblade and turned toward her.

"Here," he said softly. "It's yours now."

Her head snapped toward him.

"M-Mine…? Really?"

"Yeah," he nodded. "Its name is Longinus."

She repeated it carefully, like tasting a sacred word.

"Longinus… Longinus!"

Her face bloomed with a bright, innocent smile he had never seen before — almost blinding.

Axamu reached out and patted her head.

She hugged Longinus to her chest like a treasure, still shining with quiet happiness.

(The combination is success…)

(Then leave to test it if i still get hurt or not.)

His eyes grew serious for a moment.

But the message echoed again in his mind.

> The legendary creature has been awakened from slumber.

Axamu's expression hardened.

(What does that even mean…?)

(…Don't tell me these System Beys… really have something living inside them?)

He looked down at Longinus again.

A faint, eerie pressure pulsed from it — like something vast and ancient opened one eye.

"…No way," he muttered under his breath. "Right…?"

The girl, oblivious to his concerns, spun in place happily, admiring her new Beyblade.

"Longinus… my Longinus…"

Axamu forced a small smile for her sake.

But deep inside his chest, unease coiled tightly.

Something had awakened.
