Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: I will protect you

After dealing with the bullying incident, I turned around and was about to return to class. Unexpectedly, the person I had just saved was the villain Tram Da Uyen - the one who would kill me in the future because of Du Thanh Ngon.

As soon as I entered the classroom, I suddenly heard someone shouting my name:

"Ta Ninh Xuyen!"

I was startled, before I could react, someone rushed over and hugged me. The voice carried a mixture of worry and joy:

"Are you okay? I was so worried! If you hadn't come to school today, I would have come to your house to visit you!"

I was a little confused, but then quickly realized - this was the original owner's best friend: Trieu Kha Nhien. Now, she is also my best friend in this world.

Although I was a bit confused, I still reacted quite quickly:

"I'm fine, it was just a small accident. Don't worry too much!"

As I spoke, I spread my arms out and waved them, indicating that I was completely fine. Kha Nhien felt relieved and nodded:

"Alright, it's good that you're fine."

I smiled lightly and said:

"Go sit down, the teacher is about to come in."

Kha Nhien said "hmm" and returned to his seat at the back of the class. I sat at the front of the class because of my excellent academic performance. When I passed by Du Thanh Ngon, I glanced at him, bowed my head slightly, and spoke in a low voice that only the two of us could hear:

"Happy?"

He turned pale and stammered:

"Happy... what? I don't understand what you're saying..."

I curled my lips, my sinister smile becoming a bit sharper:

"I thought you would be happy when you pushed me out onto the street and caused me to have an accident. Turns out... you weren't?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Du Thanh Ngon's face became even paler, his eyes filled with fear and anger. At that moment, the teacher walked in, and I returned to my seat.

While studying, I secretly glanced at Du Thanh Ngon, seeing his worried face. I couldn't help but think to myself:

"A brat like you wants to compete with me? Dream on, honey."

After a series of "hellish" lessons, the bell rang to signal the end of class. Kha Nhien ran over and said:

"Let's go eat! I'm so hungry I could faint!"

I laughed helplessly:

"Okay, let's go, miss!"

Kha Nhien happily said:

"Today there's sweet and sour pork ribs! Hurry up, we won't be able to finish it all!"

Before I could react, she had pulled me and ran to the cafeteria, calling out:

Sweet and sour pork ribs, I'm coming to you!

I could only sigh and smile at her gluttony.

Luckily, I arrived early so I didn't have to wait in line. After eating and drinking to our hearts' content, we chatted about random things. Kha Nhien suddenly said:

"Hey, do you know that kid who just transferred to another school?"

I was eating and stopped:

"Which kid?"

"It's Da Uyen. I heard that the whole school isolated him because he was an orphan."

I was stunned when I heard that. Da Uyen? So it's the right person...

I tried to stay calm and asked:

"Which class is he in?"

Kha Nhien hesitated:

"Ah... I don't know about this, I've only heard rumors."

I nodded, feeling a little disappointed but still said:

"Oh, is that so..."

Kha Nhien looked at me, his eyes seemed to see through everything, then suddenly asked:

"Hey... you don't like that kid, do you?"

I almost choked, and quickly said:

"What are you thinking?!"

She giggled, patting my shoulder:

"No matter what your interests are, I will always support you!"

He said and raised his thumb. I was stunned, feeling that something was... wrong?

After lunch, we went to check in at the dormitory. I was given room 211, Kha Nhien was in room 215. After saying goodbye, I went to my room.

As soon as I opened the door, I was stunned.

On the floor was Da Uyen - the person I saved this morning - sitting hugging his knees, his body full of wounds, dirty clothes, blood still on his face.

I walked over in surprise:

"Hey! What's wrong with you? Are you hurt anywhere? Why didn't you go to the infirmary?"

I asked, worriedly holding his hand to check the wound. Da Uyen looked up at me, his eyes complicated:

"Why did you help me? Don't you...hate me?"

I was stunned, then seriously replied:

"Why would I hate you?"

Ye Yuan lowered his eyes and said softly, "Because I'm an orphan, poor..."

I looked at him, a little surprised. It seemed that Ye Yuan thought I would be like everyone else - cold and contemptuous. But no. I just said softly, "So what? What's so scary?"

I finished speaking, pulled him to sit on the chair, took out bandages and antiseptic to treat the wound.

He sat still obediently, his eyes were a little emotional.

I had just finished treating it when I asked, "How did it turn out like this?"

Ye Yuan was silent, then said softly, "I was beaten."

"It was those kids this morning?"

He nodded.

I sighed softly, then suddenly hugged Ye Yuan. He was stiff and bewildered, and I said softly, "From now on, you follow me. I will protect you, I won't let anyone bully you anymore."

Having said that, I let go, held out my hand and hooked it:

"I promise."

Da Uyen looked at me, her eyes red, her lips trembling slightly:

"...Okay."

He also held out his hand, hooked it with mine.

At that moment, the thread of fate quietly connected the two people - a stranger from another world, a wounded villain.
