Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Didn't you just...talk very well?

Nhược Vũ Hy stood on the podium for a while, looked around to find a seat, and then… pointed straight at my face.

Before I could close my mouth in shock, Vũ Hy turned to the teacher, his voice so sweet it hurt my teeth:

"Teacher… can I sit next to that classmate? I'm a bit weak in studying, but I heard that he's very good. I want to ask him to tutor me…"

The whole class exploded like a market:

"Huh? Why does Nhược want to sit with the best student in our class?"

"I'm also good at studying! Why didn't he choose me?"

"You're probably not as pretty as Ninh Xuyên hahaha."

"Or maybe that classmate Nhược… likes Ninh Xuyên?"

The whispers grew louder and louder. Hearing that, the teacher frowned and slammed his hand on the table:

"Do you guys remember this is a classroom? Or a market?"

The whole class was silent, not saying a word.

The teacher turned around and saw Vu Hy's "pitiful little cotton ball" face. How could he refuse? The teacher said with a bit of awkwardness:

"Ah... um... then you go sit down."

Vu Hy happily replied "Yes", preparing to step down when the corner of her shirt was suddenly held by someone.

She turned around...it turned out to be Lam Trach Van.

His fingers lightly tightened the edge of her shirt, his eyes unnatural as if he didn't want her to go towards me.

Vu Hy paused, not wanting the whole class to gossip again so he took a breath, trying to act normal:

"Classmate, do you... need something?"

Lam Trach Van lowered his eyes, his voice low as if out of breath:

"No."

He let go of her shirt.

The teacher was a bit confused when he saw this but still said:

"Classmate... you just choose an empty seat to sit."

Lam Trach Van just nodded, his face cold but his eyes still glanced at Vu Hy.

I looked at it and felt a little sorry. I thought: "Could it be that my damn friend and this male lead... have something going on?"

But before I could finish thinking, Vu Hy had already sat down next to me, smiling brightly:

"This classmate wants you..."

I jumped up with a bang before his bewildered eyes.

I took a deep breath, telling myself: "Don't look at him. Don't be afraid. Don't shake."

But my legs were shaking like they were about to break.

Then I looked at the teacher seriously, my voice determined:

"Sir... I don't want to sit with this classmate."

My words were like a thunderbolt from the blue sky

The whole class stopped.

Then it exploded a second time.

Vu Hy was laughing and then stopped. His face was like: "WTF! What did he say??"

The teacher frowned:

"Reason?"

I swallowed hard, not daring to look down:

"He… is worse at studying than me. I'm afraid that sitting next to him will… lose focus."

Immediately, I clearly heard Vu Hy gritting his teeth and whispering, loud enough for only me to hear:

"Ninh Xuyen… what the hell are you talking about?"

I was sweating, my heart was pounding like a drum, but I still calmly continued:

"If I sit next to him, I won't be able to focus on studying, and my results on the upcoming exam won't be good… Unless he gets a higher score than me."

The whole class: Ohhhhhhhhhh

I quickly gathered my books, glanced down to see what his face looked like, and… his lips were twitching constantly.

I ran straight to the table above before I was really strangled.

Passing Lam Trach Van, I whispered:

"Hey bro… that's a golden opportunity."

He paused for a moment, then seemed to understand. Tightening her bag strap, she mustered up the courage to look at Vu Hy, her voice trembling slightly:

"Can I… sit here?"

Vu Hy propped her chin up, sighed and watched me sit on the table above. Her voice was indifferent:

"Up to you."

She had already guessed my purpose but couldn't do anything. She thought to herself: "I have to talk to him later."

As for Lam Trach Van, she was clearly happy even though it was just the sentence "up to you".

The whole class was gossiping again:

"Oh my god, she's really pitiful, she just entered the class and was rejected by the top student."

"It's really cruel."

The teacher also sighed:

"This kid… is so straightforward in her rejection."

No one knew that the two of us were closer than real siblings.

At recess

The whole class surrounded Vu Hy and Lam Trach Van and asked a lot of questions.

I secretly planned to sneak out. Should I stay and let him tear me to pieces?

But just when I thought I could escape..

Wu Xi's eyes darted over, sticking to me like a radar.

I had just run to the door of Da Uyen's classroom, intending to call him when..

Slap.

A slender hand placed itself firmly on my shoulder.

I froze.

A cold air ran down my spine.

I felt like I was about to... log out of the Earth server.

Slowly turning around..

It was indeed Ruo Yu Xi.

His face was as black as the bottom of a pot, his mouth smiling as if it wasn't smiling:

"Ninh Xuyen... you were talking so well just now, why are you running away like this?"

Before I could answer, he grabbed my collar like a sack of rice.

I choked:

"Hey! Cough cough, you crazy girl! Let go of my collar!"

He snorted, let go, then said lightly:

"Follow me. I have something to say."

I rubbed my collar and saw the future was bleak. The question popped into my head: "Should I write a will...?"

But I didn't know that from afar, Da Uyen had seen the whole scene.

His hand clenched the book tightly, his knuckles turned white.

His eyes froze.

The smile on his lips... disappeared.
