Chapter 7 - Restless Xiao Wu

"Tang San, did you have a conflict with your roommates?" Master asked, looking at Tang San, who was devouring his food at the table.

"Teacher, I…" Tang San put down the chicken leg in his hand, hesitating.

"It's alright." Seemingly seeing Tang San's difficulty, Master said calmly, "I don't care about those rumors. Instead, you are in a period of growth, and it won't do to have poor meals."

"From now on, you will eat with me on the second floor. You don't need to eat the food on the first floor anymore."

"Thank you, Teacher." Tang San stood up and bowed deeply to Master.

He didn't expect his teacher to be so noble, unbothered by those rumors. Someone like this was worthy of being his teacher!

"Alright, Tang San, there's no need for such formalities between us." Master waved his hand, signaling Tang San to sit down and eat.

Tang San nodded and sat back down in his chair, continuing to eat heartily.

Back in Holy Spirit Village, he hadn't even had enough to eat, surviving on a watery rice porridge where you could barely see the grains. Now, with a teacher treating him so well, he felt a growing fondness and respect for Master.

Meanwhile, in the first-floor cafeteria.

After lunch, Cheng Xiao didn't immediately return to his dorm. Instead, after making some inquiries, he went to the library of Notting Elementary Spirit Master Academy. He planned to learn more about Spirit Rings before going to hunt for one.

His Martial Soul didn't originate from this world, so Cheng Xiao decided to start by reading about different types of Spirit Beasts. The Shadow Monarch was the King of Death, so the Spirit Beast he sought should be related to shadow or death, matching the Shadow Monarch's attributes.

After learning about the different types of Spirit Beasts and their attributes, Cheng Xiao took a deep breath and put the book back on the shelf before quickly leaving the library.

However, Cheng Xiao didn't go back to his dorm after leaving the library. Instead, he immediately went to the academic affairs office of Notting Academy. He planned to have a teacher from the academy guide him in obtaining a Spirit Ring.

"Hello, is anyone there?" Cheng Xiao knocked gently on the door after entering the Academic Affairs Office.

"Yes, come in." Inside the office, an older teacher glanced at Cheng Xiao, signaling him to enter.

Cheng Xiao nodded and walked towards the older teacher.

"You're Cheng Xiao, right? I remember you, the genius with Innate Full Soul Power." Director Su recognized that Cheng Xiao was the student who had just enrolled today with Innate Full Soul Power and couldn't help but smile. "What brings you to the Academic Affairs Office?"

Cheng Xiao replied, "Director Su, I do have a matter to discuss."

"Tell me about it, let's see if I can help you." Director Su put down the documents he was processing. He valued students like Cheng Xiao, who possessed Innate Full Soul Power. Of course, if it were other work-study students, he wouldn't bother caring about a child with poor talent and no background.

"I want to go and obtain my first Spirit Ring," Cheng Xiao said.

"First Spirit Ring... What? You want to obtain your first Spirit Ring?" Director Su stood up, a bit flustered. "Do you know that you need to reach level ten in Soul Power to obtain a Spirit Ring? How can you..."

Before he could finish speaking, Director Su suddenly remembered that Cheng Xiao possessed Innate Full Soul Power. He then cleared his throat and changed his tone. "Cheng Xiao, I know you have Innate Full Soul Power and can indeed obtain your first Spirit Ring, but we..."

Director Su then explained that the academy had just started the new semester, and the teachers were all busy, so they couldn't accompany Cheng Xiao to the Hunting Spirit Forest.

Cheng Xiao listened and expressed his understanding, but his face was still filled with disappointment.

Seeing this, Director Su was somewhat helpless. The academy had just started, and there were indeed many things to deal with, making it even harder for the teachers to find free time.

"How about this, Director Su? I'll take this child to the Hunting Spirit Forest tomorrow." At this moment, a middle-aged man wearing a black robe, with a handsome appearance and a warm smile, walked in.

"Headmaster? What brings you here?" Seeing the newcomer, Director Su quickly saluted him, then said, "This child has Innate Full Soul Power..."

"Alright, Director Su." The middle-aged man waved his hand, smiling. "I've seen his information. A top-tier beast Martial Soul, and Innate Full Soul Power. Such a genius appearing at our Notting Elementary Spirit Master Academy, it wouldn't be right for me, as the Headmaster, not to take a look."

Director Su's face was also filled with smiles upon hearing this.

"Let's go together tomorrow. I also need to take my disciple to hunt Spirit Beasts and obtain a Spirit Ring." At this moment, Master appeared at the door of the teaching office, hands behind his back, looking profound.

"Alright, Xiao Gang." The middle-aged man patted Master on the shoulder, laughing. "This time, your theory will definitely be successful."

"Naturally. I've taken on a good disciple." Master nodded, speaking calmly.

As if, for him, taking on a disciple was as simple as researching Martial Soul theories. However, his gaze still fell on Cheng Xiao, and though it only lingered for a moment, Cheng Xiao still caught it.

Cheng Xiao didn't say much either. After all, he also needed to go hunt for a Spirit Ring. Having Master around would provide some extra security, though he wasn't sure if he'd need it.

"Alright, let's settle it then." The middle-aged man smiled and said to Cheng Xiao, "Go back and rest first. See you at the academy gates tomorrow morning."

"Understood, thank you, Headmaster." Cheng Xiao politely thanked him and then left the Academic Affairs Office.

Back in the dormitory, Cheng Xiao immediately saw Xiao Wu, who was lying on the bed and dangling her legs.

Cheng Xiao looked at the other beds and found that Wang Sheng and the others were cultivating their Soul Power on the beds, while Tang San was lying on his bed with his eyes closed, presumably preparing for the hunt tomorrow.

Lying in bed, Cheng Xiao didn't bother with Xiao Wu beside him, instead closing his eyes to rest and think about the spirit beast he would need when hunting for a Spirit Ring tomorrow.

"Hey, why are you the same as Tang San, sleeping so early before nightfall?" Xiao Wu's voice suddenly rang out. Cheng Xiao hadn't been asleep, so he instinctively opened his eyes, just in time to meet Xiao Wu's cute face.

"What a surprise, you weren't asleep at all." Xiao Wu looked at Cheng Xiao, who had opened his eyes, and pouted.

"What do you want if I was asleep?" Cheng Xiao sat up, leaning against the wall behind the bed, his expression calm. "Don't tell me you have something to ask me in the middle of the night."

"I'm just a little bored." Seeing Cheng Xiao's expression wasn't quite right, Xiao Wu mumbled softly.

Seeing Xiao Wu's expression, which seemed to say, "I was wrong," Cheng Xiao couldn't help but scratch his head and said, "I'm going to hunt for a Spirit Ring in the Hunting Spirit Forest tomorrow. I plan to go to bed early, is that okay?"

"Hunting for a Spirit Ring?" Xiao Wu was stunned. "You're going to hunt for a Spirit Ring before you even start school? Is a Spirit Ring that important?"

"What do you think?" Cheng Xiao flicked Xiao Wu's forehead irritably. "Get some rest, I have to get up early tomorrow."

After speaking, Cheng Xiao climbed into bed, ignoring Xiao Wu who was covering her forehead and puffing out her cheeks. He closed his eyes, preparing to sleep.

However, Xiao Wu was displeased. Watching Cheng Xiao burrow into the covers, she bit her lip and thought, If you want to sleep early, I won't let you!

Then, Xiao Wu seemed to have an idea. She also pulled back the covers and got into bed. But her restless little hands secretly reached towards Cheng Xiao's waist. A triumphant smile appeared on her face, as if her plan was about to succeed.

Let's see how I deal with you!

I've been busy, and forgot to schedule the post.
