Tina clenched her hands, a flash of grievance in her eyes as she spoke in a syrupy voice, "Sister, are you jealous of me? Is that why you're trying to slander me?"
Ruby stepped forward fast to comfort her. "Tina, don't listen to her nonsense. You got into the Sacred Medical Academy because of your acupuncture skills. She's definitely jealous, that's why she's saying such things."
Tina lowered her gaze. Yes... six years ago she'd been a prodigy, the darling everyone praised.
How could Anna even compare?
Her smile widened.
She pulled an invitation from her pocket and waved it at Anna like a trophy. "Anna, did you know? The dean of the Sacred Medical Academy is in Seaside City. This weekend there's an academic conference. It's not an event anyone can attend, only the best doctors from across the country are invited."
Academic conference?
Anna remembered Fiona's call last night.
Anna stayed quiet, and Tina took that silence as proof she'd hit a nerve.
