Anna had been at home taking care of her children when her phone suddenly buzzed.
The caller ID read Samantha, her assistant at Luke Corporation.
"Anna, the deal with Tiantai Group is finalized," Samantha said quickly. "The design department already chose the drafts, and we need you to review and sign them."
Anna glanced at her little girl lying weakly on the couch.
Her heart ached. "Samantha, I can't leave right now. Natalie's still sick. Let Ruby handle the drafts, and you can sign on my behalf."
Samantha hesitated, her voice trembling slightly. "Anna, I'm not sure that's okay. What if something goes wrong?"
"Don't worry," Anna said softly but firmly. "If anything happens, I'll take full responsibility. Just go ahead and sign it."
This project was something she and Ruby had been working on together.
Even though Ruby didn't like her much, she wasn't foolish enough to ruin something this big.
