Chapter 22 - [LOU] 22: Specters

Traversing the infinite records with the Dimensional Star Chart.

In these infinite records.

What is most important?

Divine artifacts?

Resources?

World energy?

Faith power?

NO!

NO!

These are the most common. Given time to gather them, in the infinite records, they're commonplace—easily obtained.

It's merely a matter of time.

The most crucial are talents, geniuses.

Najenda, Akame, Kurome, Leone, Mine, Chelsea, Sheele.

These seven women are all favored by their world.

They possess astonishing aptitudes. As dependents, properly nurtured, their growth is all but assured.

But!

Compared to Esdeath, a genius utterly constrained by the world, they are entirely different.

In the future.

Geniuses like Esdeath, bound by their world, will grow at a terrifying speed once freed.

Talent!

That's Alistair's most vital foundation in the infinite records. The more talents under his command, the smoother his path ahead.

"This sensation..."

"It's like an elevation in life itself."

"The way I see the world—it's all different now."

At that moment, Esdeath emerged from the pitch-black light. She raised her hand, clenched her fist slightly, and surveyed the world. In her eyes, everything seemed transformed.

"Your Majesty!"

After her reverie, Esdeath faced Alistair directly and bowed.

Alistair nodded with a faint smile. "Esdeath, how do you feel?"

"A completely different sensation."

"The changes from that life elevation."

"Words can't describe it."

Esdeath's lips curved into a smile, her excitement palpable.

"Good."

"Take your time familiarizing yourself."

"Additionally..."

Alistair flicked his finger, drawing a cluster of world energy from Esdeath. It fell into his hand, transforming into the final nail.

"Eleven anchor points, all assembled."

"Next."

"It's time for the final step."

Alistair said calmly: "We can begin processing the entire world."

With Alistair's command, the Specters scattered across the world sprang into action.

"If you're interested."

"You can join in."

"Not just the Empire—include the eastern islands, southern archipelagos, western kingdoms, northern tundras. All must be brought under control."

"Moreover."

"During this process, you can gather any scattered Teigu."

Alistair turned his gaze to the women present.

"War, huh?"

"Perfect."

Esdeath's lips curved. "Let me test just how far I can go now."

"Your Majesty, I'll take my leave first."

"Go."

Alistair smiled indulgently as Esdeath donned her hat, turned, and vanished in an instant.

Alistair leaned back on the sofa. "Aren't you going? Or do you plan to wait quietly?"

"..."

The women exchanged glances.

Finally.

They stood and departed one after another.

Regardless.

Night Raid was founded to overthrow the Empire. Now, as Alistair's dependents, success was inevitable.

But they wanted to witness the Empire's fall.

Soon.

Only Alistair, Persephone, and Ker remained in the room.

In the entire Night Raid base, aside from the three, there was only the former Empire general, thoroughly defeated and captured in the white chamber.

"Dust, with the Specters' power, conquering this world should take only a day or two."

Persephone estimated the time.

"Conquering the world is easy; the real hassle is the aftermath."

"That task."

"Persephone, Ker—I'll leave it to you."

"Remodel the world, spread faith."

"Transform the entire world into a realm of devotion."

Alistair had no intention of involving himself. He didn't know how, didn't want to learn, didn't want to bother.

"Fine."

Persephone smiled and nodded, pondering her next moves.

Ker extended her divine energy, instantly covering the world.

She needed to monitor everything.

Prevent any mishaps.

What if a dependent truly faced danger?

Additionally.

Any unfound, scattered Teigu—Ker would retrieve them.

...

Boom!

Boom!

The earth trembled.

Aside from Esdeath, the women had gathered together.

"That..."

Mine's eyes narrowed, her twin tails seeming to quiver. Her voice was stiff: "That, that's a Specter?"

Three Specters clad in Surplices, followed by a vast army of skeletons.

The Empire, including the capital, totaled 27 cities.

In almost an instant.

Led by the Specters, the immense undead skeleton horde swept through the entire Empire.

Not just the Empire—the eastern islands, southern archipelagos, western kingdoms, northern tundras...

The whole world.

Plunged into an undead tide.

This war was utter domination.

"More precisely."

Chelsea analyzed: "Only those three are Specters. The ones behind are merely undead skeletons revived by Lord Hades' power."

"Terrifying indeed!"

Leone placed her hands on her hips, sighing. "But! The more so, the more exciting. After all, I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens to those noble lords."

As a commoner, Leone had a profound understanding of those utterly corrupt nobles.

She was increasingly eager for what would come next in the capital.

"Let's go; it's time we entered the capital."

"Right."

Under Leone's lead, they headed straight for the capital.

Her seemingly carefree yet astute personality made Leone something of a vice-leader for Night Raid.
