Chapter 23 - [LOU] 23: World, Faith, and Wrap

Alistair, Persephone, Ker.

The three stood atop the city walls.

Quietly observing the colossal giant looming in the capital not far away.

"The Guardian Deity: Supreme Teigu."

"Hailed as the original, strongest Teigu."

Ker explained softly.

Alistair watched as the Guardian Deity, under the playful pressure of three Specters, began to dragonize. He spoke thoughtfully.

"Persephone, what do you think?"

"Dust, I should be asking you. Can you sense the darkness within the Teigu?"

Persephone didn't answer, countering with a question.

Alistair nodded. "Yes, every Teigu contains dense darkness."

"More accurately."

"Each Teigu is a living weapon forged by incorporating danger beasts in a special way, combined with darkness and alchemy."

"Then..."

Persephone mused: "In theory, modification shouldn't be an issue."

"We'll try it later."

Alistair pondered the Teigu modifications.

This matter.

He and Persephone had discussed it.

The Teigu born in this world seemed to have limited potential.

But.

In Alistair and Persephone's view, if remodeled properly as planned, they could create a special dependent force with potential rivaling the Specters.

Of course.

All hinged on the modification plan succeeding smoothly; otherwise, it would only create more problems.

"It's over."

Alistair watched the battlefield. As the Guardian Deity was pushed to its limit, the three Specters swiftly dealt with the Empire's emperor, slaying him.

Guardian Deity: Supreme Teigu.

Retrieved.

"Let's go."

"Right."

Alistair left with Persephone, while Ker stayed behind. She needed to oversee the entire battlefield, the whole world, ensuring nothing was missed.

Minister's mansion.

Leone, like a raging lion king, her clawed hands forming fists, pummeling Honest into the ground.

"Why?"

"Why?"

"Ah!"

Honest let out a shrill scream, shouting: "Why can't I use my Teigu? Why can you still use yours? Why..."

"Ah!"

Leone grabbed Honest by the collar with one hand, lifting him. Her lips twisted into a ferocious grin: "Difference in life levels. Your Teigu's ineffective now. Next, this is mine!"

Leone yanked the Teigu from Honest's forehead.

Gemstone Ornament: Erastone.

Retrieved.

"You scum, I should just kill you outright."

"But."

"That'd be too easy for you."

"Rest assured."

"You won't die, scum. You'll suffer eternal torment in hell."

"Heh heh heh~~~"

Leone let out a savage cold laugh and tossed Honest into the undead skeleton horde outside the room.

"Stay away."

"Stay away!"

"Ah!"

With Honest's piercing screams, he was dragged by the undead skeletons, gradually enveloped in black mist, as if swallowed by the earth, vanishing without a trace.

"Ptoo!"

Leone spat, stretching her muscles, cursing: "This scum is the root of the Empire's darkness? It really pisses me off!"

"Leone, calm down."

Akame softly advised Leone. "Honest is dealt with. Let's head to the Teigu vault and collect the rest."

"Right."

Leone, Akame, Kurome, Mine, Sheele, Chelsea—the six women hurried toward the imperial palace's Teigu vault.

The capital.

Under the undead skeleton army's assault, it was nothing.

General Budo, one of the Empire's two strongest alongside Esdeath.

Now.

"..."

He was gradually encased in ice, facing Esdeath's outstretched hand. The shadow of death finally claimed this loyal warrior.

Thud!

Budo's body shattered instantly, leaving only the armguard-like Teigu on the ground.

Thunder God's Rage: Adramelech.

Retrieved.

"This is boring now."

Esdeath shook her head disinterestedly. Once, even defeating Budo wouldn't have been so effortless; it would have been true combat.

Now?

Esdeath could feel she likely had no opponents left in this world.

"Esdeath."

"Ker."

Ker's figure appeared beside Esdeath. "This world hides many god-level danger beasts. If you're interested, I can send you there to fight them."

"Good."

Esdeath's lips curved. Those god-like danger beasts, crowned with divine names—surely they'd be more thrilling?

Ker raised her hand, her divine energy transporting Esdeath away.

God-level danger beast: Ice Demon!

Demon's Extract: Essence of the Demon God.

This Teigu's origin came from that god-level danger beast in the far north, mistakenly thought to be a super danger beast.

"Perfect."

Ker murmured softly: "Lord Hades' Teigu modification—let Esdeath test it a bit."

As for danger?

Laughable!

With Ker personally watching, any mishap would be a slap to her face.

The 48 Teigu were being methodically collected.

Empire, eastern islands, southern archipelagos, western kingdoms, northern tundras.

The world's five largest nations were rapidly integrated.

The process was exceedingly swift—less than two days in total, and everything seemed nearly complete.

Under Persephone's orders, Ker began establishing faith while handling the wrap-up.

The entire world proceeded methodically toward conclusion.

This would take no more than ten days.
