Chapter 20 - Ache and amusement

The car stopped a discreet distance from the hotel entrance, its luxurious interior suddenly feeling like a pressurized bubble. Through the tinted windows, Levi could see the cluster of people gathered under the bright hotel lights, security guards hovering uncertainly at the edges while phone cameras flashed like dying stars.

"Sir," Ethan's voice was low and professional, cutting through the silence, "there's a situation at the entrance."

Levi leaned forward slightly, his gaze sharpening as he took in the scene. A performance was unfolding before them, complete with dramatic lighting and an audience. He didn't even have to buy a ticket.

Junior, sitting beside him, fidgeted nervously. "What are they doing?" His voice cracked slightly, betraying his agitation.
