He'd spent the last three days in the studio until his voice was raw, perfecting every breath, every note for tonight's showcase, only for it to be taken away and handed to the new label.
At least he'd earned his spotlight. Meanwhile, Levi was wasting the entire evening at the investor dinner, playing the decorative mate while his supposed "debut" waited.

On the other hand, Levi was settling into the cushioned chair. The lights dimmed slightly as the first presenter took the stage. Levi smiled politely when the investor on his left made a comment about the weather.
His phone buzzed in his pocket.

Under the cover of the dimmed lighting, Levi pulled it out, angling the screen away from Noah beside him.
Another call came through. Maya again. Multiple missed calls had piled up.
