Chapter 22 - Education

Four months had flown by in a blur of training. Ling An had been training alongside Trunks and Son Gohan. Thanks to systematic training and the assistance of the gravity room, both Son Gohan and Trunks made astonishing progress.

Son Gohan's progress was remarkable. He had mastered the Super Saiyan 1 form. Coupled with a base battle power of one hundred million, he could reach a battle power of five billion when transforming into a Super Saiyan. This progress far surpassed that of Son Goku and the others in the main timeline.

After all, they spent a year in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to reach this level. Although the gravity of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber wasn't as powerful as the gravity training room, the conditions in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber were harsh. But the gravity room could be turned off if it became too much. Considering this, the two were training under similar conditions, and Son Gohan's progress was clearly faster.

But this was normal. Son Gohan had fought the Androids for many years. Although his battle power hadn't increased significantly in those years, he had already laid a solid foundation. Once he focused on training wholeheartedly, rapid progress was normal. This was also true for Trunks from the future timeline. He entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Vegeta, yet his strength was far greater than Vegeta's.

Trunks' strength didn't grow as rapidly as Son Gohan's, but he had still made rapid progress. Currently, his base battle power was around thirty million. Once he transformed into a Super Saiyan, he could reach a battle power of one and a half billion, easily surpassing the Androids that wreaked havoc on Earth before, and even the Cell that absorbed Android 17 in the main timeline.

However, their growth rate was not as high as Ling An's. In terms of training, she was far inferior to Son Gohan and Trunks. After nearly four months of training, Ling An's battle power, gained through her own efforts, was only a little over a thousand. Yes, not over ten million, but just over a thousand...

Her battle power, gained through the system, had reached five hundred million. This meant that if she used a Battle Power Boost Card, she could easily have a power level of one hundred billion!

A battle power of one hundred billion was incredibly powerful. In a certain movie, a battle power of one hundred billion was even used as the movie's title.

The reason for gaining such battle power was due to several critical hits that provided good multipliers.

Ling An's growth in strength once made Son Gohan question his life. He felt that he had already grown very quickly, gaining nearly ten times the power he had four months ago in just a few months, thanks to Ling An and the gravity training room. However, this power still couldn't compete with Ling An, and the longer it went on, the more he felt Ling An's power was unfathomable.

But while he questioned his life, the Son Gohan of this world was ultimately a true warrior. Faced with Ling An's overwhelming power, he didn't despair. Instead, he thought about working harder to catch up!

He had this confidence!

After all, it wasn't a year ago. If someone had told him a year ago that he would soon have the power to easily crush the Androids, he certainly wouldn't have believed it. But after more than a year of training, Son Gohan had deeply realized his potential. As long as he worked hard, having even greater power in the future wouldn't be a fantasy at all.

Ling An's understanding of training was somewhat different from Vegeta's. In Vegeta's opinion, constantly burying oneself in hard work was enough to gain great power, and there was certainly nothing wrong with that. But this was only suitable for a battle maniac like Vegeta. In Ling An's view, a balance between work and rest was the most correct way to train. In fact, Son Goku, who was a disciple of the Turtle School, also implemented this. In the original story, when facing the threat of Cell, Son Goku didn't make Son Gohan constantly train.

Therefore, every half month, Ling An would take Son Gohan and Trunks out to rest, either to play, fish, or shop, letting their minds completely relax before training again. Of course, they couldn't be completely slack either. Once they were completely slack, Nobi Gohan from the main timeline would have to be brought out to be whipped again.

A balance between work and rest was necessary for anything.

So, on this day, Ling An once again left Bulma's house with Son Gohan and Trunks, preparing to relax for the day.

"Sister Ling An, where are we going to relax this time?" Flying in the air, Trunks looked at Ling An with some curiosity and anticipation. Initially, Son Gohan and Trunks didn't understand the bi-monthly rest and relaxation, but after a few attempts, they gradually understood Ling An's good intentions. Besides, it was indeed helpful for their training, so they also started to get interested.

Hearing Trunks's question, Ling An said with a smile, "Today, we're going to be heroes and do good deeds!"

"Doing good deeds?!"

Hearing this, both Trunks and Son Gohan were stunned, not understanding what Ling An meant.

"Hehe, you'll understand soon."

Every time she relaxed, Ling An would try to find something new and interesting, instead of always doing the same few things. After all, it was for relaxation, and if they kept doing the same things, it wouldn't only fail to relax them, but might slowly become a burden and pressure.

Although Ling An mainly taught Trunks, she often only gave guidance, and for the most part, she let Trunks train himself. In this case, she had a lot of time to think about where to go next to relax her mind and body.

Trunks and Son Gohan, filled with anticipation, followed Ling An as they flew.

Before long, the three of them arrived at a relatively bustling city. It was clearly a city that hadn't yet been ravaged by the Androids. In the past few months, with the disappearance of the Androids, humans had regained some order. However, this was only true for the cities that hadn't been affected; most cities were still deserted and empty.

A few months weren't enough for people to realize the Androids were truly gone, but at least they didn't have to live in constant fear like before.

The three landed on top of a large building.

Watching the bustling city below, with a hint of panic on everyone's faces, Trunks was puzzled. "Sister Ling An, you said you wanted us to be heroes for a day, and you brought us here. Does that mean this city is going to face some danger?"

"That's right!" Ling An gave Trunks an approving look. "Since the Androids were eliminated, humans may not know the Androids are gone, but after a few months, they've gradually gotten used to life without them. However, the aftereffects of the Androids' rampage haven't disappeared... After the Androids killed the king and the management, most cities are left to fend for themselves. In such circumstances, some unscrupulous people have come out to cause trouble."

"About two months ago, a group calling themselves the Saviour Legion stole the Resistance's weapons and have been active in many cities in this area. Many people have been killed by this group. According to reports, this group is heading towards this city, and they will arrive today."

Hearing Ling An's words, Trunks was immediately furious. "These damned guys! Even if humans couldn't unite against the threat of the Androids, they shouldn't be killing each other like this. These people are taking advantage of this situation to do evil; they're simply despicable!"

At this moment, a trace of confusion flashed in Trunks's eyes: "Could this be the humanity that I and Gohan-gege risked our lives to protect against the Androids?!"

"Trunks, snap out of it!"

If Trunks's previous words were simply filled with indignation, then this next sentence caused Son Gohan's expression to immediately change. He placed his hand on Trunks's shoulder and said with utmost seriousness: "Trunks, you must not think like that. Because humanity is, and always has been, a complex collection. There are evil people, good people, and many, many ordinary people. Not everyone is bad, understand?"

"That's right, Trunks. The reason I'm bringing you out this time to be a hero is to let you understand what kind of existence the humans we saved from the Androids truly are," Ling An said calmly from the side. "Humans are an extremely complex existence. Even now, humanity isn't aware the Androids have been eliminated, but just after disappearing for a few months, the humans who were originally united would start to split. Once there's an opportunity to do evil, the evil within some people will be suppressed."

"But just as Gohan said, just as there are humans who do evil, there are humans who do good, like you, like Gohan. Or do you think that you and Gohan aren't considered human?"

"No, of course not..." Hearing this, Trunks quickly shook his head. Although he and Son Gohan were descendants of Saiyans, they were born and raised on Earth. Apart from their bloodlines, they had nothing in common with Earthlings. In this case, how could they not be Earthlings?

Trunks took a deep look at the city below, then exhaled and said to Son Gohan and Ling An: "Gohan-gege, Ling An-jiejie, I understand everything you're saying. I was just thinking too extreme just now."

"Trunks, you must understand that no matter how powerful you are, when dealing with ordinary people, you must look at things from their perspective. Never adopt the mindset of a strong person looking down from above. Understand?"

Ling An said with utmost seriousness, looking at Trunks as he nodded heavily. A smile appeared on her face; this was the purpose of bringing Trunks and the others out this time.

Compared to the Trunks from the original story, the current Trunks hadn't experienced much. Although he was mature, it was only relative to his age. He wasn't very mature compared to adults, so some things had to be made clear to him, lest he go astray.
