Chapter 23 - The Meaning of Education (1)

Although with Trunks' personality, he wouldn't necessarily become the person Ling'an worried about, she still didn't want even a small chance of that happening. Apart from her regard for Trunks based on the original story, she also considered him as her younger brother after more than a year of being together.

Who wants their younger brother to go bad?

Ling'an wasn't worried about Trunks going bad, but she didn't want him to become indifferent to the lives of ordinary people because he hadn't thought things through.

Trunks was only a child of about ten years old. His view of the world was still very naive. If he hadn't been guided by Ling'an today and saw the actions of the Saviour Legion in the future, coupled with his performance today, he might really start to disregard humanity because of the flaws in human nature.

Ling'an never thought that humanity was beyond redemption. After all, a long time ago, she was just an ordinary and humble person. An ordinary person didn't have the ability to do evil, and couldn't be made to suffer the consequences of the so-called flaws of human nature on behalf of some evildoers.

Evildoers should be eliminated, but good people and ordinary people shouldn't be allowed to sink along with them. This was Ling'an's view of humanity. She didn't separate herself from ordinary people just because she had gained powerful strength. As the saying goes, "Do not do unto others what you would not have them do unto you."

Son Gohan glanced at Ling'an with some gratitude. He also regarded Trunks as a family member, like a younger brother, but he had never considered Trunks' psychological problems. If it weren't for Ling'an's guidance today, he wouldn't have known that Trunks might have some extreme thoughts about certain things.

"By the way, as the saying goes, heroes naturally need to hide their identities, so I specially prepared a set of hero equipment for you. Take a look and see if you like it. I sewed it myself, you know!"

Smiling, Ling'an produced two watches and handed them to Trunks and Son Gohan. The two of them took the watches, looking at her with some confusion, wondering what kind of hero equipment these watches were.

"Gohan, press the red button in the middle of the watch!" Ling'an said with a smile. Son Gohan didn't hesitate, pressing the red button without any hesitation. The next moment, a green jacket covered his body, along with a black bodysuit. In addition, there was a helmet and a red cape. Anyone who had watched Dragon Ball would recognize it: this was Son Gohan's Saiyaman suit from the main timeline!

"Wow! What is this?!" The sudden transformation surprised Son Gohan. He quickly floated to the outside of the building and looked at his reflection through the glass. Seeing his attire, he couldn't help but exclaim, "This is so cool! This is exactly the masked hero I imagined! Ling'an, did you make this? It's amazing!"

"Yes, I sewed the clothes, but this set of equipment was designed and ultimately made with help from Aunt Bulma."

For Bulma, designing such an automatic transformation device wasn't difficult. She was actually quite interested, so she created it in less than half a day.

Sewing the clothes was slower for Ling'an. Although she had worked in the clothing industry in her previous life, she had never designed and made a whole set of clothes by herself, so she would stop and start. She had wanted to bring the two of them out to be heroes last month, but unfortunately, the clothes weren't finished, which is why it was delayed until now.

It has to be said that although the two Son Gohans from different worlds were different in their training, they were still very consistent in their sense of aesthetics. Although the current Son Gohan was already in his twenties and had experienced the Androids, making him more mature, his sense of aesthetics could still last for a long time. Moreover, both Son Gohans had experienced the Ginyu Force incident.

Therefore, looking at his suit, Son Gohan was extremely satisfied, looking left and right at the glass.

"Ahem, Sister Ling'an, can I... not wear that outfit?" Trunks clearly had different thoughts. Watching Son Gohan still admiring himself, the corners of his mouth twitched wildly. He really couldn't understand what was so good about that green and black outfit, especially the helmet, which he thought was absolutely hideous!

"Oh, Trunks, you don't like it? That's too bad. I spent nearly a month sewing it. I thought you'd like it, Trunks. Since you don't... then give it back to me. I won't force you, Sister."

Ling'an heard this and showed an expression as if she was sad, reaching out her fair hand to take the watch back from Trunks.

Hearing Ling'an's words and seeing her sad and disappointed expression, Trunks' heart trembled. At that moment, he felt like he had done something wrong, and his heart was filled with shame and guilt.

After looking at Son Gohan, who was floating in front of the glass and making all sorts of strange movements, Trunks reached back. He gritted his teeth and said to Ling'an, "No... it's not that, Sister Ling'an. I just feel like this outfit will affect my performance. But since it's Sister Ling'an's kindness, then... then I'll wear it!"

"That's great! Then hurry up and put it on. I sewed it myself, and I believe you'll like it." Ling'an seemed to change her face, and when she heard Trunks' words, she immediately showed a smile, urging Trunks to put on the Saiyaman suit.

Seeing Trunks' reluctant yet forced movements as he put on the clothes, Ling'an secretly chuckled in her heart.

This was of course what she had designed from the beginning. After all, judging from the original story, apart from Son Gohan, not many people thought this outfit looked good. Trunks was even more disgusted, and Goten initially liked it, but as he got a little older, he thought it was quite ugly. This showed how ugly it looked in the eyes of the people in this world, so she deliberately messed with Trunks.

In truth, Ling'an didn't think much of the Saiyaman's abilities. As a tokusatsu fan, she'd seen far less appealing costumes, and she'd accepted them without issue. Actually, the Saiyaman's outfit was pretty cool. What she didn't like were the strange poses Son Gohan adopted, influenced by the Ginyu Force.

It was as if the suit held some magic. Son Gohan, already quite mature, put on the outfit and struck all sorts of odd poses in front of the glass, yet he seemed quite pleased with himself.

Trunks reluctantly pressed the red button. The next moment, a suit appeared on him that was different from Son Gohan's Saiyaman attire. Instead, it resembled a Saiyan battle suit. He gave a small "Huh?" and looked at Ling'an in surprise.

"Sister Ling'an, my clothes are a bit different from Gohan's." Trunks hadn't expected his suit to be the same as Son Gohan's. There was no strange green and black, no hideous cape or helmet. He was now wearing a black undersuit with soft armor on his upper body. While not exactly handsome, it was at least aesthetically pleasing.

Compared to Son Gohan's outfit, his looked incredibly cool. Trunks admired it with great satisfaction.

"I modified it based on the Saiyan battle suit your father, Vegeta, used to wear. What do you think? Do you like it?" Ling'an smiled gently. She liked teasing Trunks, but that was all. She wouldn't actually make him wear something he disliked or even found distasteful.

Joking was fine, but knowing the limit was important. Even if wearing Son Gohan's outfit wouldn't offend or bother Trunks, he wouldn't like it. In that case, how could Ling'an make things difficult for him?

"Yes, I love it. Thank you, Sister Ling'an."

Trunks already thought the outfit was cool. When he heard it was modeled after Vegeta's battle armor, he liked it even more. It felt like the battle suit had a special meaning. Even though he had heard Ling'an talk about Vegeta's misdeeds, he still admired his father. Faced with Ling'an's thoughtfulness, Trunks felt incredibly warm inside.

"Wow, Trunks, is that Saiyan battle armor? It looks terrible. I didn't expect you to wear something like that? Ling'an, why didn't you make Trunks a suit like mine?"

At that moment, Son Gohan flew over. He looked at Trunks' clothes with a bit of surprise, completely surprised that Ling'an would prepare such clothes for Trunks.

Hearing this, Trunks' mouth twitched a few times. He took a deep breath to calm himself, then smiled and said to Son Gohan, "Gohan-gege, Sister Ling'an said this is a special suit made for me by Dad. It has a special meaning for me."

"So that's how it is. In that case, the clothes do suit you," Son Gohan scratched his head, thought for a moment, and nodded. However, the disdain in his eyes was still obvious.

Trunks: "..."

How should I explain that, in other people's eyes, your clothes are even stranger, Gohan-gege.

"Alright, you two, the heroes' outfits are ready! Now you can go around doing good and helping the weak!" Ling'an clapped her hands to remind them, "But remember, you're already very powerful. Those evildoers are just ordinary people, no matter how evil they are. You must control your power and avoid turning anyone into dust, understand? Try to spare their lives and let those who have suffered from their actions judge and deal with them. We only need to stop their evil deeds."

"We understand."

Hearing this, Son Gohan and Trunks exchanged a glance, then nodded in unison.

"Then let's wait a bit longer. It should be arriving soon. By the way, Trunks, you can transform into a Super Saiyan later. Even though nobody knows who you are, we should still put on a full show. Heroes need to conceal their true identities." Ling'an's acting bug had been triggered, and she instructed Trunks.

Trunks nodded to show he understood.

The higher you stand, the further you see.

Furthermore, all three of them possessed the ability to destroy the world. Therefore, when billowing smoke appeared outside the city, they all understood that the so-called Saviour Legion had arrived!

"A total of two hundred vehicles, nearly a thousand people, and everyone has weapons, even rocket launchers."

The three of them wore serious expressions. This level of firepower was insignificant to them. Even if the number increased by hundreds or thousands of times, it wouldn't faze them. However, for this city, such power was already terrifying.

Seeing this, Trunks was about to step in. However, Son Gohan stopped him at that moment:

"Wait a moment, Trunks. Although the Resistance's forces in this city aren't strong, they're not completely absent. Look closely; there are quite a few Resistance members ambushing over there. Let's see how they handle this first. We can intervene, but only if humanity is helpless or has given up resistance, understand?"

"And Trunks, take a good look. While there are evil people in humanity, there are also those who are weak but brave enough to fight against evil forces. Their courage is undeniable."

"I understand, Gohan!"

Trunks nodded to show he understood. Therefore, the three of them looked towards the edge of the city together. There, they could see many Resistance members lying in ambush. But their numbers were very small, only about a hundred people. After all, their previous imagined enemy was the androids, and facing such a terrifying presence, not many dared to resist.

The fact that there were a hundred people was already quite good.

"Sir, the Saviour Legion is approaching. Should we attack?!"

The Resistance constantly monitored the Saviour Legion's movements. Everyone's face was serious, but no one was afraid. Even though their strength was far inferior to the Saviour Legion, they dared to fight against the androids. Their courage was undeniable.

Although there was a vast difference in power, they didn't flee like the other citizens. Instead, they planned to ambush the Saviour Legion.

If they could win, that would be ideal. If they lost, well, there was nothing to be done. The power gap was just too large. But no matter what, they would never surrender or run away. This was the oath they had made from the very beginning, to fight against the androids.

They dared to resist the androids, the demons threatening all of humanity, so how could they not resist the Saviour Legion? Even if their strength was small, they would not give up.

Soon, the Saviour Legion approached the Resistance's ambush. They laughed arrogantly, as if imagining the rich rewards they would gain after conquering some cities. However, before their arrogance could fully manifest, the road where the first ten or so cars had passed suddenly exploded. The booming explosions and the screams of the people caught in the blast echoed, immediately stunning those behind.
