"Just go. I'm busy." Cassius's voice turned icy as he stepped past Nevaeh, pressing a credit card into her hand. "Use this to get something to eat."
Since everything she did was only for his grandfather, why should he accept anything from her?
The only reason he gave her the card was because Finlay had once told him women loved gifts and surprises.
Not knowing what Nevaeh liked, he thought the best choice was to hand her an unlimited credit card so she could buy whatever she wanted.
She should be happy with that.
But when Nevaeh's eyes landed on the card, there wasn't a flicker of excitement. She glanced at it once, then looked away, refusing to take it.
"If you don't have time, that's fine. I'll just go home for dinner. No need to spend money," she said calmly.
Turning on her heel, Nevaeh walked out of the company building.
She had only come to express her gratitude, to invite him to dinner as a gesture of sincerity. Since he was too busy, she would let it go.
