One single thought made Cassius's already stormy expression deepen.
His woman… she faced difficulties, yet she had turned to someone else instead of him.
Did he mean so little to her that she would rather seek help from a stranger?
Noticing the tense atmosphere, Frank cleared his throat, trying to intercept Finlay before he could push Cassius too far. "Mr. Bowen, maybe tone it down. Mr. Cassius might not take it well."
Finlay, however, was undeterred. He glanced at Cassius, reading the storm in his eyes.
He wanted to push him just enough to make him realize the truth, that his stubbornness was blinding him to his own feelings for Nevaeh.
"Come on," Finlay said, leaning in with a sly smile, "your young master and young mistress… their marriage isn't real, right? Why would it matter to him? Isn't that right, Cassius?"
Cassius's only reply was a sharp glare.
