Chapter 69 - Comfort

As Nevaeh left, Cassius suddenly felt a wave of clarity pierce through his drunken haze.

The darkness in his gaze deepened.

He hadn't expected her to react so fiercely to being denied entry into Samuel's group. To her, it wasn't just about the competition.

It was about Samuel himself.

Cassius's chest tightened.

After all these years of calling Samuel his brother, this was the first time he had seen him care about a woman.

What unsettled him even more was how obvious it was, like Samuel and Nevaeh had known each other for years, even though they had supposedly just met.

Was there something between them that he didn't know?

That thought alone made his already cold eyes turn to ice.

Just as his agitation was building, Hussein hurried inside.

"Young Master, did you have a fight with Young Madam? I saw her leave the house… her eyes were red."

Cassius's body stiffened. His lips parted. "…She cried?"
