Chapter 77 - Reveal

Elizabeth froze, her whole body trembling as if lightning had struck right above her head. Every gaze in the crowd turned toward her, sharp, judgmental, and unrelenting.

"W-What are you all looking at me for? I didn't do anything!" she stammered, her voice rising with panic.

But the more she denied it, the more suspicious the crowd became.

If she truly hadn't done anything, why would Evan call her out by name? Things like this didn't just happen by accident. Evan wouldn't dare mention her unless there was proof.

"Stop talking! I didn't do it! It wasn't me!" Elizabeth shouted hysterically as whispers spread like wildfire around her. "You can't just accuse me like this!"

But her shouting only made things worse, the murmurs grew louder, faces turning toward one another with disgust and disbelief.

Elizabeth's chest heaved as she finally snapped.
