Finlay realized something was wrong and quickly asked, "Where did you guys eat?"
"At the usual Chinese restaurant," came the reply.
Finlay hung up and immediately relayed the information to Cassius. Without wasting a second, he sped toward the restaurant.
On the other end, Nancy hung up the phone, panic rising. Nevaeh still hadn't returned home.
Could something have really happened? She didn't dare waste any time and rushed toward the restaurant as well.
After receiving Finlay's call, Cassius turned and sped toward the same place.
Reviewing the security footage, he confirmed that Nevaeh had left and gotten into a taxi. Remembering the license plate, Cassius hurried to the taxi company.
When he arrived, a man in a taxi uniform was causing a scene at the entrance.
"My car was parked right here, and now it's gone! You need to help me find it!"
"Why should I bear the loss? Your faulty surveillance didn't work! If it had, I'd know who took it!" Cassius snapped.
