"You told the front desk you're my woman?"
Cassius had expected Nevaeh to walk in. After all, she was the only woman in his life.
But instead, it was Elizabeth.
And she actually had the audacity to claim she was his woman. Where did she get the nerve?
Elizabeth ignored Cassius's cold glare. This was her last chance, and she had to seize it.
Standing before him, her eyes red, she spoke, "Cassius, I didn't mean it like that. I came to see you, and I was afraid you wouldn't want to meet me, so I said that. You're not mad at me, are you?"
Cassius's face darkened. "Are you done? You can leave now."
She had expected indifference, but she hadn't anticipated him being this cold.
Seeing his lack of warmth and recalling all that had happened, Elizabeth gritted her teeth and suddenly rushed forward, throwing herself into his arms. "Cassius, I really love you. I've loved you for so long. Can't you at least consider being with me, especially since I saved you?"
