Chapter 9 - My intrusive lesson.

The dinner was splendid. Absolutely splendid. Well, we are eating with the royal family so, it is to be expected that the food tastes Absolutely amazing. There was turkey drumsticks, dragon ribs, and even giant spider legs covered in honey. They tasted so good.

"Give my compliments to the chef, Dolores" I tell the queen. I wish I could've met the king, but he is sick and old. But the food is just so good, I even ate all the leftovers too. I needed to improve and make more Ammo after that fight with the demon. I was able to make a total of 2 new types of Ammo.

Honeyweb ammo: Sticks to the target and leaves a trail of sugary string, flammable.

Ice Dragon bone ammo: Deals ice damage and slightly homes in to the target, might freeze around area of impact.

Other than that, I finally learned the name if the princess, her name was Shiele, and according to her, she got possessed when she wandered out in the woods to retrieve a book of spells she was reading. This dinner was peaceful. Until the intruders came.

No, not physical intruders, no. I'm talking about some intrusive thoughts, it turned out there was one drawback to my Heavenly Storage Unique skill. I have to contain the sins I consumed until I can find a new host for them, if I don't do that in time. I might absorb the sins into my body.

"They have their guard down, kill THEM" Said my pesky intrusive thoughts. It was almost starting to convince me, until the princess spoke up.

"Saint Julina and Sin consuming Louki, you have our thanks and we are in your debt. Please tell us, how can we repay you?" Shiele said. I pondered, Julina wasn't much help, she was too busy digging in on some turkey. But then, it clicked. Not something that could morally be considered, helpful. But something that could benefit me and my friend.

"I require to stay around an additional month in your kingdom, Shiele. I heard one of the villagers mention a library containing books of creatures and info about them. If so, I would like to study these books." I answered her. I wanted to know everything about mimics, what they do, their anatomy, their resistances and weaknesses, not to help me, but to use to my advantage. Shiele then opened her mouth, her arm stopping as she was about to put something of a dumpling in her mouth.

"Very well. You can stay in the guest room for the time being. Is the saint willing to stay?" At those words. Julina stopped eating and looked up, she seemed to hesitate. But thankfully she didn't take more than 30 seconds to answer.

"I can't stay, I'm afraid. My duties as Saint are priorities to my connections." She answered, her voice shaking with concern and regret. We all just stared in silence.

(In the bedroom)

My very own room. If I wasn't a mimic, it wouldn't be such a funny situation. Just imagine, a living, breathing treasure chest with sharp teeth in a bedroom. Just owning it. I didn't care to sleep on the bed. But that was when my thoughts spoke up.

"You know the REAL reason that you are staying in this so-called kingdom is so that you can conquer it. Like a true monster." Said my thoughts. Annoying as usual

"Quiet down, you are just a voice in my head. Created from the sins of the demon."

"Am I thought? I believed myself to be the truth. A friend. One to steer you into true calling. Why not let Mr take control? Or at least. Let me teach you how to mimic things other than a chest?" My thoughts were trying to teach me how to finally mimic other objects. Best to play it safe and inquire.

"Is this just another trick?" I asked myself.

"NO. In fact, I think it would be wise for me to teach you right now. You see that mirror over there?" The thoughts in my head replied. I did indeed spot an ornate mirror beside the bed. It looked, appealing. Maybe my thoughts of sin weren't so cruel as I made out.

"Think of only the mirror and yourself. Think of yourself and the mirror. Becoming the mirror. You LOVE the mirror." Said the intruder. As if my thoughts could manipulate my body, they did. I felt my chest form contort and form into the shape of the mirror. My teeth formed the glass, my small eyes displayed as ruby gems outlining the mirror.

"Woah!" I exclaimed. "This is, appealing prospect." As I was getting used to my new form. A maid came in.

"Hello, um, Louki? Princess Shiele asked me to check if you are in your room. But I don't really know what you look like." Look at this maid. So unaware, she looks almost twice Julina's age. And as if this was a horror movie she stepped in front of me, admiring her reflection.

"Wow, I never knew how tall I was." She remarked. She had bigger things to worry about than her size. And as if this moment didn't feel awkward, the intruder spoke.

"HUNT" it commanded. I didn't move, I didn't want to kill an innocent person.

"Come on, don't you want to vent your anger you felt back home? All those times you wanted to punch Celine? All those times you wanted to leave the school forever. All those times you endured the yelling and mockery from the jocks. Don't you want GLORY!?". That's when it hit me, I-I did want glory. I start to open my mouth, the glass teeth seeming to shatter into many sharp shards as the maid screamed.

"NO. I won't. Not now." I told myself, stopping myself from moving as I compressed myself back to my chest form. Entering a state of sleep.
