Just as the two kissed passionately, ready to move further, a stranger's voice called out.
"Sir, miss, please get out of the gondola quickly—it's dangerous here!"
Téa jolted away from Yuto's arms, and he quickly let go of her soft waist.
'S-safe?!'
They both thought the same, looking outside. Gondola 3 had already reached the ground.
A police officer stood outside, with crowds and reporters farther back. Yugi held the phone the police had used earlier, standing nearby.
Reporters' cameras clicked furiously…
Thankfully, the next day's papers read "Domino City Police Capture Bombing Suspect" instead of "Couple Makes Out in Face of Bomb Threat!"
Thank goodness.
The following Monday, Duel Monsters' Master Rule was released.
2000 Life Points, no first-turn attack, and an automatic loss if no monsters were on the Field for more than one turn…
It was close to the rules from his past life!
Naturally, Yuto rushed straight to the Muto family game shop.
"Grandpa! Two boxes of the newest boosters, please!"
Seeing a customer, Solomon Muto beamed, took the money, and handed him two boxes. "Here you go. Since the Master Rule release, Duel Monsters has gotten even hotter! Stock's tight."
"Got it, Grandpa. I'll get going!" Yuto hardly chatted, clutching the boxes and running home.
[Detected: Host has purchased Master Rule booster packs. Cards in starter packs have been updated for new rules.]
[Congratulations: Host has survived the TV Asahi–era. Starter Deck distributed.]
A surprise bonus?
After so long, the system gifted him something big. Yuto nearly sprinted with afterimages.
He rushed upstairs—and sure enough, on his desk sat a small box stamped with the Principality of Zeon emblem.
[Principality of Zeon Starter Deck]
He tore it open and pulled out the cards.
Twenty-two cards in total: 12 Monsters and 10 Spells/Traps.
A Starter Deck, but he'd need to fill it out himself…
Never mind, time to check effects carefully.
[MS-05 Zaku I], [MS-06 Zaku II], [H.L.V.], [ACE – Black Tri-Stars]…
The deck looked a bit clunky, though still strong. Later, he'd add three each of [Pot of Greed], [Graceful Charity], and [Card of Sanctity].
Oh, and [Threatening Roar] to stall.
Strangely, in this Duel Monsters world, those Spells weren't rare. However, Monsters with over 2000 Attack, or strong effects, were rare indeed…
Especially [Colony Drop]. With only 2000 starting LP under current rules, that card was terrifying.
After reviewing effects, Yuto organized the deck list:
[ACE – Black Tri-Stars] ×1
[ACE – Char the Red Comet] ×1
[ACE – Johnny Ridden the Crimson Lightning] ×1
[H.L.V.] ×3
[MS-05 Zaku I] ×3
[MS-06 Zaku II] ×3
[ACE!] ×2
[Operation British] ×2
[Glory of Loum] ×2
[Minovsky Particle Dispersion] ×2
[Colony Drop] ×2
