The Third Hokage's reason for bringing the Anbu near the Root Base was because he'd received information that Danzo's subordinates had appeared at Konoha Hospital.
He was worried that Danzo was secretly targeting Naruto again, so he rushed over to check and, while he was at it, give Danzo a warning.
He hadn't expected to arrive and witness the Rasengan's explosion. He could only have the Anbu use a Barrier to contain the area.
Saving them was impossible. Furthermore, he couldn't stop the Rasengan's power.
But at the very least, he needed to keep the energy contained, preventing it from spreading.
When the energy dissipated and the Barrier was opened, the scene that met his eyes was one of utter devastation.
The Root Base, which had been built beneath the forest, was now a giant circular crater.
"Hiss!"
The Anbu who had followed the Third Hokage all gasped, drawing in cold breaths.
Such destructive power was simply unimaginable.
If they hadn't deployed the Barrier in time, it was likely that most of Konoha would have been affected.
"What exactly happened here!" The Third Hokage was also somewhat frightened, filled with resentment towards Danzo, who always liked to stir up trouble.

Such losses drove Danzo to the brink of madness.
"You mean Naruto?"
The Third Hokage appeared beside Danzo in a flash, disregarding everything else, his face filled with disbelief. "Are you saying Naruto did this?"
"Who else could it be?" Danzo roared. "I warned you long ago, that little brat is very cunning, concealing powers we don't know about. If you had listened to me, I wouldn't have suffered such a huge loss!"
The most crucial thing was that Shisui's Kotoamatsukami was gone!
In order to save his life, he had used Izanagi as a one-time consumable, and Danzo's heart was bleeding.
The Third Hokage's old face was also terrifyingly grim; he was already used to Danzo's unreasonable behavior, but now was not the time to argue.
If it was truly confirmed that Naruto possessed such destructive power, yet acted foolish all day long, then it would be too terrifying.
Thinking of this, the Third Hokage ignored Danzo and turned to leave, heading towards Konoha Hospital at the fastest speed.
Danzo's expression flickered uncertainly. Everything that had just happened felt like a dream, and he still hadn't completely recovered.
After pondering for a moment, he decided to follow the Third Hokage to the hospital.
"I'd like to see how Sarutobi handles the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox brat after learning all this!"
If he could take control of Naruto Uzumaki, the losses he suffered today could be barely tolerated.
Unfortunately, if he had known Naruto possessed such power, he should have used Kotoamatsukami on him long ago to gain control.

Konoha Hospital. When the Third Hokage and Danzo rushed to Naruto's ward, both of them were stunned.

The beautiful nurse, caught off guard, turned deathly pale, struggling and hitting Danzo's hand.
"Hey, what are you doing, you ugly old man? Let go of the nurse!"
Naruto leaped up from the hospital bed, flailing his arms as he tried to save the woman.
However, his strength was laughably weak. Danzo casually flicked his arm, sending Naruto flying.
"Danzo!"
The Third Hokage seemed to finally realize what was happening, and he snapped, "How dare you resort to violence in front of me?"
"Hmph!" Danzo tossed the beautiful nurse onto the bed and sneered, "I was merely checking if she was under a genjutsu."
"And the result?" The Third Hokage's expression remained cold.
Danzo fell silent.
The answer was obvious: no!
"You bastard!!" Naruto shouted, shielding the beautiful nurse behind him as he glared at Danzo. "No matter who you are, I'm going to beat you up! Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"
Dozens of Narutos instantly filled the hospital room, resulting in Naruto himself not even being able to move, let alone beat up Danzo.
Watching Naruto mess with himself, Danzo was completely dumbfounded, his head filled with question marks.
Is this guy deliberately pretending to be stupid, or is he really this dumb?
At this moment, even Danzo himself wasn't sure. Perhaps someone else had destroyed his Root Base, and they were just pretending to be Naruto to frame him?
