Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Dictate

Jun watched as the crowd exchanged glances with one another before quickly dispersing.

"Wait! Please," he called out to them, "can anyone tell me what happened in that building?" there was a brief moment where a few people hesitated and may have spoken, but then Jun continued, "Who is Gavik? What is did he do?" at that the remaining people seemed to give up entirely. A few of them even hung their heads down low in inevitable defeat as they slunk back into the many sewer shacks.

Soon, Jun, Shang, Xia, Mei Mei and Shu'er were left alone.

Shang waited for his fans to disperse before saying anything. He approached Jun and coughed once.

"Look, I don't say this all the time." He took a deep breath then blurted out, "Sorry."

This very act seemed to take most of his strength and his shoulders sagged again.

Jun sighed. "What does it matter… What am I going to do now." He mused. "I think something happened with this Gavik and the person I'm looking for… but no one seems to know about Gavik."

"More like no one talks about him." Shu'er corrected.

A brief silence followed.

"Still." Jun faced Shang. "It's alright. I know we fought, but, it was great training all the same."

"Training?" Shang asked, surprised.

"Y-Yeah," Jun was puzzled. "To get used to my powers. Don't you?"

"Me what. Train!?" Shang laughed and shook his head. "What for?"

Jun blinked. He told himself maybe this guy simply misunderstood the question so he decided to be extremely clear.

"When I first got my powers," he started, but Shang interrupted him.

"The Umbra event? When we ALL got our powers." He added smugly.

Jun chuckled. "Yeah, then. I could only really move about a few kilograms of weight. But now," he flexed his fingers, gazing at them "I could do a few hundred easy."

"Really!? That's so cool. Hmmmm, you might almost be as cool as me." Shang began to run his fingers down his own arm, "If I could get stronger by training," he threw both arms up to the sky, "Oh! I would definitely be even cooler." He finished by striking a pose, with one hand on his hip while the other palmed his face.

Jun and the girls exchange puzzled glances.

Shang exhaled delicately before speaking. "If you want to know more about Gavik, I recommend you talk to Senior Fu. He is the leader of this Under city. He knows a lot of things and might be able to help."

Jun felt a surge of hope. No one so far had talked or mentioned Gavik and he was beginning to fear losing Rin forever.

"Senior Fu?" Jun asked, "where could we find him. Down here?"

Shang sighed. How could he leave someone as cool as him to wander aimlessly around. "I'll take you to him."

"You will? Why? No - I mean thanks… but…. Why?"

Shang dramatically walked, one hand swaying with his hips, which he then placed on Jun's shoulder. He locked eyes with him and shifted down a set of glasses that weren't really there.

"We strong men need to work together right."

"Huh!?"

Shang suddenly laughed, "Exactly! Besides, I can't have someone as strong as you walking around doing as you please, harassing those you think are criminals."

"But she – oh… okay. Yeah. You're right. Thanks."

Shang stepped back from Jun. He inhaled deeply then streams of light erupted from his eyes, slamming into the ground around him in a burst of light, leaving behind a small ornately carved palanquin; perfectly sized for one person, carried by four child sized humanoids made of energy, their faces hidden behind scarves.

Shang jumped atop the palanquin.

"This way powerful man. I shall personally take you to see Senior Fu. We go." The palanquin then began to move away. "Bring your harem and come along."

Jun's face turned bright red and he shouted back. "Hey! That's not! No!" he looked to Mei Mei and Shu'er.

"WHAT!?" they both shouted at him.

"What what?! I thought you will say- ARGH! Forget it! Let's just go."

The group moved away. Xia looked around stunned for a few moments. She exhaled deeply, glad she hadn't suffered anything more than a light bruising, then went back towards the hospital. She still hoped she could have her examination finished.

Park Ming Su found himself once again standing in front of a press crew, ready to make a statement on behalf of the Minister of Health and Welfare.

The last few days for Ming Su and the Ministry had been devastatingly unique in the entire history of mankind.

Each day after the Umbra Event altered the very meaning of Government or society as a whole. While the higher ups had decided to suppress certain news, Ming Su had found himself experiencing sleepless nights, his mind shaken to its core due to the sensitive pieces of information it was now burdened with.

The Press crew were still arriving, with less than half of their number since the last press release.

Park Ming Su ensured the weight on his mind didn't slip through his façade of resilience.

He flipped through his notes to give his hands something to do as he pondered what his life would be like for the foreseeable future.

The Capital is in ruins. We may not have stable government for a long while.

He looked down to the new badge of office he had received. Not earned, received, due to not many people alive being in line for the position.

Ming Su felt a mild nudging in his side. He looked up to see that they were finally ready for him.

He stood and felt the world swim around him for a moment. Ming Su took a few moments to steady himself. He needed not just rest, but a bit of peace of mind.

Ming Su watched the armed police officers that had swarmed the location. He wanted to feel reassured with their presence. However, he had personally witnessed a single super human tear through tens of police officers effortlessly all to slay several Ministers during an impromptu meeting.

Ming Su approached the podium. He found himself strangely calm. Prior to all this, he had been a nervous wreck, but now that the wait was over, he found himself able to stomach what he was about to do against his nation.

He tapped the microphone, ensuring they were active. After the feedback. Ming Su spoke.

"As of 02:30am this morning." He inhaled as he readied himself for the True beginning of the new era. "The President and his cabinet have hereby been replaced by our new leader, Ligor."

The press crew took a few puzzled moments, staring at each other before the seats exploded with questions.
