Jewel .....the girl in her seventeenth year , a highschool student - my sister-in-law, she was also the princess of Sunshine corporation.
I always thought that it was a harmless request to let her follow me around with my makeup team .
A part of me wished that this would let the fire of hatred she had for me would get soak in her gratefulness.
Afterall I was tired of fighting with my husband's family .
But I had never imagined that my one desicion could lead a young girl into danger .
" Search for her everywhere!," I panicked .
" Should we call the police ?," Myra asked , immediately picking up my anxiety.
" No !," I shouted at her and then I lowered .y voice ," I am so sorry , Myra ."
" It's okay ....but what are we going to do now ?," she asked .
" I will call in some help ."
I never imagined that I would have to call my mother-in-law like this .
Well , ofcourse, she would probably shoot me in my head for endangering her daughter but she needed to know about it .
The other side of the call was soon filled with her cursing voice - cursing my family, cursing my marriage, cursing my attitude and everything.
" I understand that you might not be terrified of the situation as we are , considering you never had to face Rupert as much as we had throughout the years ," her voice trembled," But we trusted you and told you everything. Couldn't you be a little sensitive about it ?"
' So how was I supposed to know that my sister-in-law could get kidnapped from my working venue like this ?'
Well , I should have known. I was the first victim he took away from Sunshine's parking lot , compared to that meet-and-greet of an idol was nothing .
" I am sorry ...I shouldn't have involved her in my team ."
" I don't ask much of you , do I ?," her voice was filled with disappointment," Just a little understanding and you still managed to fail me ."
The call was cut off after that .
I used to complain how everything I did seemed to be wrong yo my mother-in-law, now I wondered about it .
Maybe most of them was really my fault . I was the one underestimating my capability to ruin everything.
I didn't have the face to call Liam.
By now , the news of sister's disappearance might have already reached him .
It did not really matter if I called him , myself .
Sure enough, in ten minutes there was a message from him .
'Go to Gengen and wait for me there '
I tried to figure out how upset he was with me. But eventually I thought of something else.
There was another person I could call .
Thankfully the person picked it up .
" Danielle...how is Jewel doing ?," I asked Rupert's right-hand man.
" Oh wow ! It's you, isn't it ?," Daneil sounded surprised.
" Yes ,"I answered , yes , I was the girl who kidnapped at gunpoint for your boss.
" Thought you would never call ," he seemed awfully cheerful for a bad guy ," How are you doing these days ?"
" Not good enough to have chitchat with you now ," I did not want to anger him but I didn't like to be friendly with him either ," Now , can you tell me if Jewel is there ?"
" You know the answer , already , don't you ?," his voice was filled with humour.
" Yes ," I agreed ," What I have been meaning to ask is if she is doing alright ."
" I could give you the information," Daniel lowered his voice ," But that is going to cost you a lot ."
" How much ?," I asked confidently, for one this I was thankful to the God was that I was never short on money ," Name your price ."
" Oh sweetheart ," he said gleefully," I am not asking for money . You are going to pay me with a romantic dinner with you ."
I froze .
Was this guy serious ?
But for Jewel , I could not really cut it off .
His ridiculous request , felt like an order .
I would have agreed if not for the voice that I heard coming out the phone .
" Oh common , Daniel ,she is married to my fucking brother ," it was Jewel , " Don't give her that shit ."
" But I always wanted to go on a date with a celebrity," Daniel complained.
" Jewel !," I shouted ," Jewel ,are you there ? Are you okay ?"
After a painful long pause from the other side , it was Jewel who was talking now . I had to pinch myself to realise that it was not a dream .
That Jewel was still safe and sound .
There was still some hope to find her .
" Sorry ,I left without telling you ," she said ," It's just...dad came to pick me up ."
Didn't she know what a monster her dad was ?
I took in a shaky breath ," Jewel come home now, your mother is very worried ."
" She is always worried ," Jewel sounded like a brat . I was annoyed at her but I couldn't scold her right then and there ,in the fear that she could just cut off her call and be done with me
" Send your brother your location ," I told her ," If I have to remind you again , I will kick you out of my team. "
" That's not fair !"
I cut off the call and waited and waited .
Sure enough, there was another message from Liam-
' I found Jewel , we will be home soon.'
