By the time I had finally returned to our Gengen , it had already turned into a chaos .
The whole Anderson family was in the dining room , shouting , screaming while the servants fidgeted nervously by the wall .
" This is getting out of hand , please ," I begged them ," Please calm down ."
All of them looked at me .
" You ! ," my mother-in-law sneered ," Of all the time my son has spoiled you , and you give us back by ruining my daughter like this !"
" Why do you think I am ruined !," Jewel wailed ," I knew that I am never going to be enough for you !"
" Can't you see that I have done everything to protect you?," Mrs. Anderson grabbed her daughter's arm ," Why can't you for once be a little sensible ?"
" You make me suffocated mom ," Jewel's voice trembled in grief ," When Liam was with you learning business, you never had time for me since you were so busy with your all perfect son. But now that he has left you for something you can't control, you are throwing the noose around my neck !"
" Jewel !," Liam's voice sounded heartbroken.
" You shut up , " she hissed at her brother," You never cared or bothered to know why I like being a makeup artist. If....if you were there for me , maybe I didn't have to consider talking with my sister-in-law like this . And now that she has actually bothered to listen to my request, you all are angry at her ."
Jewel forgot to mention the part where we had practically blackmailed each other until we had come to a suitable deal that we both liked .
" Go to your room , now ! ," Liam hissed .
Jewel ran out of the room , crying ... which left me to be the next victim of their fury .
" Well ," I started," It's not like I was not looking out for her , infact I told my brother or my drive to always drive her home safely."
" From where did you get the audacity to lead my daughter astray ?," Mrs. Anderson asked ," It is one thing that you do not care or listen to my advices , it's totally other things when you are getting your fingers in Jewel's life ."
" Have you considered that she might really want to do it and that's why she went overboard with it ? Maybe if you have given her a tiny chance , then maybe she would not have taken such drastic measures," I urged her ," She was crying to me when she asked me for that ."
" Julia , my sister cries all the time to get what she wants ," Liam said ," Besides, we already have an idea that she was sneaking behind our back and joining you in the events."
I paused ," So.....you knew about it ."
" About that ," Mrs. Anderson rubbed her forehead like she was having a headache now ," Liam knew about it but dud not bother to mention it to me ."
Liam shrugged ," I thought that she will eventually get bored of it ."
" Liam , she is a senior in high school !," my mother-in-law threw her hands in the air ," If she wasted time now , it will stain her future forever! And you ," she snapped her head back at me ," From now on , don't even think about letting my daughter coming near your working team."
I was upset .
Why was she acting like I was some kind of infectious disease?
If not for today , Jewel's mother would not have even bothered to find it about what she liked and what not .
" I can not promise that ," I shook my head .
" Huh ?," my mother-in-law looked at me astonished," Say that again."
" Jewel can come and go whenever she likes ," then I paused and corrected it ," Well , as long as she can keep up with the team and is not kicked out like any other new apprentices ."
" Will you stop until she is taken away by that monster again ?," she shrieked ," How can you be so selfish ? I don't wish for you to start caring suddenly but couldn't you just be a little cooperative."
It was like I was giving a death sentence to her.
" If Mr Hunter wanted it ,he could have kidnapped her from the school too," I said , shivering as I remembered that I was taken away from the parking lot of Sunshine corporation office building ," Rather , we should be worried about what your daughter went through there ."
" After all you have done , you still are shamelessly speaking to it ," Mrs. Anderson hissed ," I wonder if this attitude is all that's left to you from your father."
" Mother ," Liam's voice was cold now ," Enough."
" It's your fault !," Mrs. Anderson pointed a finger at him ," Had you not been stubborn about marrying a girl from Dane family, this would have never happened."
" I suggest you stop speaking about my wife that way ," Liam's voice rose," I gave you enough time to repermaid her even though she wasn't at fault , just so you can put your mind at ease but that does not give you the right to keep talking about her this way ."
" Now that you have a woman in your arms , you are giving her more importance than your own mother !," she laughed with dark humour.
" Of all the time you like you act like a victim just so you can make others guilty - tell me mother , what if I tell you the same thing ?," Liam's voice was dripping poison now ," Nothing would have started if you had not married Rupert Hunter."
" I KNOW I WAS WRONG! THAT'S WHY I AM TRYING TO WARN YOU SO YOU DON'T END UP LIKE ME !"
"Are you done now ?, " Liam told her coldly ," Julia , let's leave ."
" Where do you think you are going?!," my mother-in-law threw the question at me, knowing she could not longer argue with my husband.
" Somewhere we do not hear about your hypocrisy," said Liam and then he took my hand and we left .
I turned back for the last time to get a final glance at her .
Mrs. Anderson ,she looked like a broken , old woman who was terribly lonely
