I stayed on the stage with a heartbroken expression as Mira talked about how hard it was for her to get into the industry.
I knew that cameras were zooming on Liam too , to watch his expression.
What did people want now ?
That was the biggest question.
Mrs. Palmer atlast spoke for her daughter ," We support her desicion as no parents can win over their children . We promise to teach her for the better future of the Summit corporation. We will do our best to not disappoint you ."
I tried not to look back at Sasha .
I wondered how she was feeling now . Watching a totally different girl taking her place and being pampered by her parents - how much hurt had she been ?
Now that the camera were mostly focused on Palmer family and Liam , I got up from my seat .
It was better for me to look for my brother now .And what Sasha wanted to do , depended on that .
I looked around the hall for them to no avail. It was when my brother had finally picked up the call , I finally took a deep breath of relief .
" Where are you two ?," I asked .
But Jasper did not answer .
Instead I could hear two familiar voices on the other side of the call.
" Why - why are you here !," a woman was screaming ," I told you multiple times that I will go meet you ! Do you want your mother in trouble so much ?"
My head snapped back at the central stage . Surely , Mrs. Palmer was gone from there
" Ms. Mira , here , missed you and requested me to bring her to you since you have not been picking up her calls ," Jasper said .
" Who are you ! How do you know her ?!!," Mrs. Palmer hissed ," Sasha ! I knew that you never wanted this old mom to have a good life !"
There was also a faint sound of crying on the other side of the call.
" Stop with those hand gestures !," Mrs. Palmer snapped again ," They make you look like more of a clown than you already are ."
" How can you talk to your daughter like that ?," Jasper's voice was filled with despair,"She tried her best to reach out to you ."
" Who are you anyway ? Are you trying to mooch off money from my family," Mrs. Palmer's anger was clearly directed at Jasper now ," Then you better know that there is not even a coin left under my daughter's name so you better give up ."
" I am just her friend and her caretaker ," Jasper hissed ," Even if I have cared for money , I would not have been able to digest that filthy money you have ."
" Shut up and get lost !," Mrs. Palmer shrieked," And you , Sasha ! You are going to a different nursing home ! I have been lenient on you !"
" Why don't you call your daughter by her actual name !," Jasper roared ," Why can't you call her Mira Palmer?!"
" She is noone of Palmer family !"
" You gave birth to her "
" I have birth to no abomination!"
There was a silence on the other side of the call and then Mrs. Palmer was calling for security," Guards ! Put this man to jail for breaking into our venue and take this girl back to our house ."
There was a struggle on the other side of the call.
Panick fluttered inside my heart , as I realised that they might be beating my brother .
No, no , no , no , no ..
" Jasper ," I whisphered and then loudly I called his name .
But the call was cut off .
I ran around the hall , looking for Liam .
He should know what to do in this situation. But to my frustration, I could not find him anywhere.
A hand pulled me behind a beam . It was one of the security guard of Sunshine corporation.
" Mr. Liam is looking for you ," he said ," Ms. Mira Palmer has contacted him . Your husband will like you to be there ."
" My brother ," I grabbed his arm ," My brother is in trouble , can you look for him ?"
" Surely ," he was talking to his phone now , they were talking in codes , but I had an idea that they were talking about my brother .
" Your brother has been located ," he informed me ," We will soon get him out of his situation."
" Thank you , thank you ," my voice trembled in relief .
How dare they hurt my brother .
They had to pay .
Since my father died ,I had promised myself that I would never let another hand hit Jasper .
I was not letting him going through this again .
Palmer house would have to pay for this . No matter what it takes , I swore to burn their house down .
