I waited at the backseat of the car , in the darkness .
It was usually the one Liam used for his work.
I could not believe that I was hiding there like a stalker , even though it was my husband's security team who put me there .
It was better than letting Liam be with that woman alone again.
Lin should be desparate enough , now that she knew that there was another woman on his bed .
It took forever , when Liam got into the front seat of the car . Soon Lin got into the car from the other side .
" I have missed you ," she said in a breathless voice .
" Do I look like I have time for your whinning ?," Liam said.
" But you still came, right ?"
" Isn't that because you said you have a ' gift ' for me ?"
" Yes ."
There was a silence.
" It better be good since I had a date tonight ," Liam said , irritation dripping down her voice ," I could have scored on the bed by now ."
" Liam ," Lin's voice trembled," This isn't like you ."
" So I wasted my night for some snobby advice ? Get out the car , now ."
" No , Liam , wait ."
" Should I call the security to drag you out ?"
" No , Liam , I could give you so many things."
" Oh , please ."
" Liam...I know that your father is back ."
Liam paused and then said ," What the fuck does that have to do with you ?"
" Liam ," Lin grabbed his hand , desparate for attention," I know that your family has been having trouble cause your father is back ."
How hard must it be for my husband to act like he did not care at all .
" What else , stalker ?," Liam jeered .
" I know something that can sink Rupert Hunter's ship ."
" You are just bluffing ," Liam said .
" Take this card , it's an asylum in Waihen , go meet Mr. Sherhold there ," Mira said.
" So I can waste more times on your nonsense?"
Lin shook her head ," Ruper Hunter ...he is not who he says he is . All his assets actually belongs to his Godfather Rhus Sherold , Rhus had a daughter to whom he gave his assets but soon she died and left everything to Gerald Sherhold, her brother.
Ruper knew that he can never get the assets back as long as Gerald is involved so he tried to kill him .
Gerald ran and hid himself in an asylum. But Rupert doesn't know that . You must meet Gerald and convince him to transfer his property under your name .
All Rupert had ever owned would be gone then."
" You are lying ," Liam shook his head ," There is probably no Gerald ."
" There is !," Lin hissed ," Gerald ...he is my father ."
I stopped breathing at the backseat .
" I know Liam ....that you always knew me ...you recognised me ....I knew it from the moment your eyes met mine . I know everything about you ," Lin said softly ," I didn't know why you kept lying but as long as I had you , I did not care at all . I thought that this was finally we could be together, again. And I know your body more than mine , there is no way I can not but make you satisfied."
" Stop ," Liam snapped .
" Oohh baby ," Lin crooned ," You thought that you hid your lies well.
But your game was more mesmerizing. I could pretend to fall in love with you again and watch you do the same ."
" Why did you come back ?"
" Cause I missed you , Liam ," She said like it was something obvious," As soon as I found out Palmer's family's situation, I signed a deal with Mrs. Palmer , she needed a healthy , smart daughter so she could keep the company's shares and I needed an identity that would help me to get near you ."
Lin touched her face ," But last time , you shot at me , it gave me a nasty cut . I had to do a dozens of plastic surgery to fix that . While going through that ,I thought why not make myself more perfect for you ?
I wanted a face that would make you kneel before me ,Liam . I can not say that I am exactly satisfied but somehow it worked ."
" I -,"'Liam started but Lin grabbed his face to shut him off , I clutched the seat tightly as Lin leaned on him and kissed his lips ," You don't need to give me excuses , my love .
I have already contacted with Gerald. Next Sunday we will go to meet him . As long as you sign a marriage paper with me , I will let you have him ."
Lin opened the door of the car and left .
I waited two seconds , before stretching my hands to touch Liam.
He flinched .
" I'm sorry ," I was choking on my tears.
Liam's eyes looked dull like life had sucked out of them ," She tastes awful , Julia ."
I leaned in and kissed him ," You don't have you remember that . I promise that oneday I will make you forget her ."
