Chapter 23 - THOU DOST PROTEST TOO MUCH

"Eseh. Eseh." The melodic tune of her voice flowed into the cave as Nara called for me. I had sensed her before she got close to the cave. That was the perk of being a Lycan; our senses were sharper than your average shifter and I was an Alpha from a noble bloodline known to possess abilities that bested any other Lycan bloodline.

"Guess what I brought?" I could hear the excitement in her voice and it made its way to my stomach as well. I felt that flutter again, the one I've been feeling ever since I regained consciousness. The one I felt the day I had pinned against the walls of this cage with my hands around her neck.

I had expected to frighten her. It wasn't as if I wasn't aware that she had been coming to the cage to take care of me. I knew who she was even before I made it to these woods. I spent months, nights watching her, studying her and the places she visited in the forests. She was brave for a dainty little thing.
