NARA
*Flashback*
"Ma, I'm going out to pick some roots. When Pa comes back, tell him, okay? I don't want him worrying like he did yesterday." I announced, walking out of the tiny corridor we have into the small cosy living room.
I could hear my mom shuffling around in her and Pa's room. "Nana, you've been going out a lot recently."
I hurried to the door as her footsteps echoed down the corridor. "What are you up to?" Her voice caught up to me just as I pushed the curtain made out of straws aside. "You're running to avoid my question."
I knew there was no point trying to evade her now because it's just going to make me appear more suspicious, so I sighed and turned to face her.
"I'm not running. I'm just in a hurry."
She eyed me for a minute. "Are you seeing someone?"
