Surprisingly, the meeting had gone better than I could've imagined. No doubt there were people who still resented me in the clan, and that was fine. As long as they remain steadfast in their loyalty and know that breaking free from their chains is far more important than their loathing for me, then I don't care.
Nara had insisted on not taking any girl from the clan into the palace to serve as her court ladies but I was totally against that idea. She cares for them a lot and I know she's only trying to protect them, but trying to shield them from the inevitable wasn't going to change their situation faster.
