Chapter 12 - Chapter 11.

The next day came, and there was a quietness in the kingdom, restlessness of the people of Greengrass. I had not slept a wink worth of sleep that night. I just sharpened my sword on the overlook repeatedly in the pouring rain, listening to the weeping of the dark of night. While I was sharpening my blade, grinding roughness against steel, my thoughts ran wild. I had a rage in my eyes brewing silently.

It was the middle of summer, so the kingdom was filled with heat, and the air was moist and thick, leaving me yearning for winter's cool embrace, but when winter comes, I shall miss summer's warm touch. Humorous how that works. As one comes, you will miss the other. I wonder why one is never truly satisfied. It is strange to think about…

I wondered and wondered for hours about many things, truly trying to conquer my inner demons and lost thoughts of nonsense. I should probably get some sleep, but there is no time… no time to stop and smell the flowers.

Finally, it was time… time to get off my ass and do something about this treachery. I sheathed my sword with my head held high, as I marched over to the throne room. "My lord, why would this Gunther of Aleria do this?" I asked the king, as he was going over a plan to retaliate against Gunther for committing crimes against the kingdom with Captain Ames, the captain of all military involvement.

"Well, you see, my boy… a rider in the night rode through here a few weeks ago to deliver a message to me stating that I had to give him fifty percent of all resources belonging to the kingdom or else there would be a price to pay… I did not do this; hence, the damage was done. I sent that rider back from whence he came with a message for Gunther, stating that he had to give me half of his resources or there would be a devastation from me to him. Captain Ames has informed me that this was a mistake, because Aleria is known for its powerful and large army. So, I have made a mistake, but now it is too late. So, we are going to war, ser Alex!"

"Tell me what I can do, sire! Send me with orders to destroy them! I am filled with rage, sir! Rage, I tell you!! I will not surrender, I will not retreat, I will not show mercy, I will not rest until I have conquered them!" The men admired my passion as did the king.

"You are right, ser, Alex!! Here are your orders… Sneak through the land of Aleria, find their barracks, and burn the fucking thing to the ground along with the sleeping bastards with it!! Now I must warn you… The task is dangerous with an absurd amount of risk. So… WHAT SAY YOU?!"

"I say, the cunts shall meet my blade and their inevitable demise and soon at that!! I shall send them to the Fiery gates of hell… where the devil will fuck them all!!!! Consider it done, your majesty." I yelled to the king, as the men all roared out cries of war and blood.

I marched through the castle doors and through the kingdom to my horse and jumped onto my stallion, and rode off on my journey to Aleria. It felt like someone was following me, but I kept looking back, and no one was there each time.

 Hmm…
