Chapter 27 - YGS [27]

In the spacious shop, Hu Tao's flat, emotionless draw-call echoed in Luya's ears:

"Normal…"

Luya felt uneasy… The small white ghost, echoing Hu Tao's voice, carried a card forward into Luya's hand.

The first was just a Normal…

Fortunately, four cards remained, four more chances at higher rarity. Luya wasn't too discouraged.

He looked at the card—It depicted Hu Tao sitting at Liyue Harbor, holding a ghost in her arms.

After delivering the card, the little spirit vanished into specks of light, leaving behind a trace of warmth on the card.

[Lost Ghostling] Level: 1│DARK│Zombie/Spirit│300 ATK / 200 DEF

╵If the Field Spell [Wangsheng Funeral Parlor] is on the field, you can Special Summon this card from your Deck/Hand/Graveyard. Can only be summoned once per duel.

Luya sighed, examining [Lost Ghostling]…

A solid effect—able to Special Summon from Deck, Hand, or Graveyard.

However, only Hu Tao could make real use of it since he didn't have Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

Still, Hu Tao would surely pay well for it.

He stored the card into the Inventory, praying, "Please… let the next be gold… a Legend… I sacrifice my buddy's 10 years of romance as an offering…"

Even though he already owned every card from the original Yu-Gi-Oh!, the chance to pull Teyvat-exclusive cards stirred his excitement. Who knew if such an opportunity would come again?

He took a deep breath, touched the back of another ghost—

"Normal…"

Again, Hu Tao's voice rang flat, the ghost turned, delivered a card, then melted into faint light.

"Damn… Another Normal?!"

Two in a row made him mutter in frustration.

[Exorcism Ritual] (Trap Card)

╵Banish 1 monster from either Graveyard; then draw 1 card.

Card art showed a girl banishing spirits at night—on closer look, resembling Hu Tao.

Luya nodded. Not bad—Handy in many matchups, possibly useful as tech.

He tucked [Exorcism Ritual] away in the Inventory.

With more Teyvat-exclusive cards in the future, building a Genshin-themed deck seemed tempting… Its activation condition wasn't strict. Even in a regular deck, it worked as a decent utility card: banishing plus hand draw.

Though low rarity, still valuable.

He poked the next ghost as the third ghost turned. After two Normals, he no longer expected much.

But—this ghost rebelled.

Suddenly, golden light burst across the shop!

Hu Tao's shocked voice rang out:

"Gold Legend!!!"

The ghost swelled larger, dancing with joy, holding a shining golden card, rushing it into Luya's hands before vanishing.

Luya flipped it—

And after a long breath, his thoughts tangled.

He felt this card would be hard to use. His mood grew heavy, unsure how to handle it.

In the end, he still added it to his deck… For Hu Tao, this card carried extraordinary meaning. Though it was a Legend, he couldn't feel happy.

After that, he quickly opened the last two cards:

[Staff of Homa] (Equip Spell)

╵Increase the equipped monster's ATK by 300. When it destroys an opponent's monster, inflict 500 damage to the opponent.

A crimson staff, purging impurity with blazing fire.

[Calming Incantation] (Quick-Play Spell)

╵Target 1 monster on the field; change it to face-down Defense Position.

Hu Tao, eyes half-closed, regulating her breath.

With Hu Tao's special pack opened and his shop tidied, Luya prepared for tomorrow's reopening.

After a long day, he realized—

He hadn't eaten dinner yet!

Luckily, the shop was in Liyue Harbor's prime district, full of good food and drink. With millions of Mora in hand, he could live lavishly.

Buying some food nearby, he ate and returned to his room to rest, awaiting the next day's opening.

He looked forward to meeting more people in this world and spreading Yu-Gi-Oh! across all of Teyvat.

In his dreams, he faintly heard a girl's sobs…

"If I hadn't played hide-and-seek… Would Grandpa still be here…"

After a night's rest, he awoke refreshed, though saddened by the dream.

Living in a room inside the shop, he stepped to the store's main door. With a press of his finger, the fingerprint lock clicked, and the door opened.

At once, Hu Tao burst in cheerfully, "Good morning, Shopkeeper!!!"

"Haha~ This Hall Master is back again!"

TL: Bruh… "Calming Incantation" is (almost) literally Book of Moon. I even checked multiple times.
