CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN

The morning light filtered softly through the curtains, painting pale gold streaks across the marbled floor. The estate was unusually quiet the kind of stillness that carried its own melody. Somewhere down the hallway, I could hear the faint laughter of the girls as the housekeeper helped them with breakfast.

I sat at the edge of the bed, combing through my damp hair. It was still early, and the warmth of the bath lingered on my skin, wrapping me in that faint scent of jasmine and something citrus my own blend, my own signature. The world outside was stirring to life, but I was still lost in last night's silence.

Lucian had come home late again. But this time, it was different. He didn't just come home he came to me. The way his eyes had softened when they met mine, the way his tone had gentled… it was as if we had finally stepped out of the fog that had hung between us for too long.

And now, he was home.
