Chapter 73 – The Morning After the Kiss Rina
The morning sun felt different.
It wasn't brighter or softer than usual, but there was something new in how it touched my skin like the world had decided to hum in a softer key just for me. Even the air in Lucian's mansion seemed lighter, the silence less lonely.
I stood by the window in a loose cream dress, my fingers brushing my lips unconsciously. The ghost of last night's kiss lingered there soft, hesitant, and impossibly real. I had barely slept. My heart had kept replaying it over and over, refusing to let me forget the way he'd looked at me before it happened like I was something precious.
"Good morning, ma'am," one of the staffs said as she passed with the twins' breakfast tray.
I smiled back, voice still dreamy. "Morning, Lia. Are the girls awake?"
"Yes, ma'am. Playing already. Miss Lila's drawing again, and Isla's feeding her teddy."
I chuckled softly. "Of course she is."
