Work was supposed to clear my head.

That was the plan. It always worked before. Meetings, contracts, numbers structured things that obeyed logic, not emotion.

But this morning, nothing listened.

The boardroom was full. The walls of glass gleamed with morning light. My team discussed projections and merger ratios, their voices a blur that refused to anchor me. My pen hung still between my fingers, and all I could think about was the faint citrus scent that clung to my shirt.

Rina.

It had been there since last night. Since the moment her lips touched mine soft, warm, uncertain, but honest.

Every time I tried to breathe, that memory followed.

I was doomed the second it happened.

"Sir?"

My assistant's voice broke through the fog. I blinked. "What?"

He hesitated. "The new acquisition your approval on the legal clause."
